Re: Old Sportrider Article

Saw this on CEII's site and thought it was a great read:

Old Sportrider Article

The picture of Rainey on top of the box, and Doohan's and Schwantz's resulting facial expressions from the 2nd and 3rd positions on the podium is priceless....wish I was following MC racing back in those days....

Yep, they see themselves as the first and second place losers. Unreal, the intensity of true racers.

Re: Old Sportrider Article

I was lucky enough to work at the USGP's in 90 & 91.
Those were fantastic races.
If memory serves, Lawson won in 90 and Rainey in 91, but the 'ol brain-housing-group could have things jumbled a bit.

Re: Old Sportrider Article

One of the saddest days when I heard Rainey was paralyzed. Moto GP is good but just doesn't have the feel that gran prix had in the late 80s early 90s. I still dream of a 500 GP at Laguna Seca. I never got to see one.

Do not feel bad that you did not follow what is significant history,

for you are focused now on what will be significant history tomorrow.

Will it be as 'good' as then? *What is the definition of 'good'?

I am happy to say that I lived through and followed the times and races of Agostini to the present racers we all know. *I wish I had seen Halewood, but could only read about it. *I am certain that it can only get better, and many reading this will enjoy the racing of stars I shall never know.

So, enjoy now!!!
