| 2009 MotoGP Champion Forecast **Possible Spoilers** So who thinks the Doctor still has it? Or will Danny proves himself again to be the biggest A$$ off the track? Can Nicky come back strong on Ducati? Will single tyre rule really make this the most competitive racing we've seen in many years? So many questions, and with so much anticipation... Who will be the 2009 Motorcycle King of the World? |

| Re: 2009 MotoGP Champion Forecast If Rossi's bike is mildly functional, he will win. Stoner does not have the mental maturity to win when a strong challenger is on his back every race. I will be pulling for Hayden, as usual. I think the spec tires will make the racing closer, but there is still the chance to pick the wrong tire and have your times fall off the pace. I'm just glad to see there will be bikes on the grid to race. They will be testing in Sepang the first week of February, so we will see some hint of what's to come then. Who put Spies in the other category of the poll? He is racing in WSBK for Yamaha. |

| Re: 2009 MotoGP Champion Forecast I think it will be
Rossi
Stoner
then a gap back to Pedrosa
and Lorenzo as the big unknown
When it works for Stoner he can win and do it easily. Definitely think if the bike is right he can be champion again.
Rossi - well he is clearly the best rider and most certainly the best "racer"
Hayden - not so sure. Has never shown himself as a race winner at GP level. The Ducati might suit him and let him show off his talent, but I just have trouble seeing him winning a decent number of races.
I think Lorenzo is the big wild card.
He showed glimses of brilliance in his first few rounds in MotoGP but then a couple of big falls knocked both his body and confidence around.
He could come good and challenge at the front. |

Pedrosa
Stoner
Rossi is, by far, the most consistent and experienced rider, and he can handle the pressure better than the others. Pedrosa has a very real chance if he doesn't over ride conditions. Stoner falls apart when he's not all by himself in front. Hayden has a tremendous amount of talent, and could win if he can be consistent on the Duc. Lorenzo is definitely a wild card.
I hope this year is all like '08 Laguna Seca--tight, close racing like in the golden era! |

| Re: 2009 MotoGP Champion Forecast I think Rossi will prevail once again if he doesn't crash trying too hard chasing Stoner. Rossi loves this game.
I wish for an upset though and anyone of the Honda pilots to win, yes, even the midget.
Nicky was my fav but since he's on a Ducati now, it has changed. If a Ducati was going to win though, I'd rather it be him than Stoner. |

Def going to be a two horse race between Stoner and Rossi. If Stoner doesn't PUSH to hard and keep falling off as last year, then I dont think Rossi will catch him.
Be nice to see Lorenzo do something very special

Not sure if he is the best rider, but man he is hard to beat when he is on the track near someone else - he has the ability to get to the line first. Quote: |

Not only has Stoner more time on the bike, there does seem to be some magic/chemistry about the Ducati and Stoner. |

Big change but I dont think, Hayden has got what it takes for MotoGp | Ive said this a dozen times before - Hayden might have a world championship, but he hasnt shown he has the ability to win races. He has won just 1 race outside of the US in some huge number of starts.
Yes he is very good, but in this company he is not a winner.
Maybe he will click with the Ducati and get a chance to prove me wrong. Quote:
Be nice to see Lorenzo do something very special | I think he could be the dark horse.
He has talent, started really well but then had those crashes and lost confidence.
I think this year he will be back in the top few most rounds and definitely could be a champ in years to come. |

| Re: 2009 MotoGP Champion Forecast Racing has been great so far, IMO. Looks like the spec tire may have merit after all. Rossi is where I would expect him to be. Pedrosa has done more than I thought he would, Stoner less so. Poor Lorenzo, I would like for it to go his way. Look at Melandri back form the dead. Hayden has taken his place. Looks to be an exciting year!!! |
