Dirtiest racing move ever?

I will go with this one.........

YouTube - Valentino Rossi & Sete Gibernau Jerez dog fight to finish

Rossi on Gibernau at the last corner at Jerez in 2004. Total block and cheat pass by Vale, which ultimately saw then fall out and Rossi say that Sete would never win another race............and he never has!

Either that or Capirossi's move on Harada to claim the 250cc title, for which he was sacked by Aprilia!

YouTube - CAPIROSSI HARADA

Re: Dirtiest racing move ever?

Yes I remember watching both of those!

Both were very rude moves - Capirossis was very bad, never looked like he was trying to take the corner, just take the other guy!

And even Rossis move was bad. Yes it makes for exciting racing, but really moves like that shouldnt be rewarded - up inside, plan to apex way later that the other guy and just push him out of the way. Not a lot of respect for the other rider. Luckily it doesnt happen often, but I think in cases like this the rider should be penalised - its not racing, its demo-derby.

I love Rossi and think he is the one of the all time greats, but this wasnt one of his best moments.

Great videos. Dirtiest ever?...Not sure, but as far as these two go, they are both similar.

Re: Dirtiest racing move ever?

Carlos Checa, i think it was last year, taking out Max Neukircher at Valencia in the last turn on the last lap. Max was surely on his way to his first win. Carlos dive bombed him on the inside and they both went down. I believe Carlos got up and finished and Max did not...

Re: Dirtiest racing move ever?

Yes, Checa's move was very desperate indeed and was a total do or die manoeuvre!

Going back a few years:
A brief lesson on how not to get on with your team mate

YouTube - 1997 World Superbike Sentul - Last Lap

And also from the same year how to win in the last minute (I think possibly one of the best races of all time)

YouTube - 1997 World Superbike Phillip Island Race 2 Recap

Cheers

Steve

Re: Dirtiest racing move ever?

I clicked on this cause I thought there was going to be a link to some weird German bike porn or something.

Some d*ck moves for sure but if I paid my bills by winning races, I don't know how much of a gentleman I would be out on the track.

Re: Dirtiest racing move ever?

Simoncelli is just a dirty rider full stop, just ask Bautista!

...........and Kocinski's move on Crafar was just downright disgraceful!

Yeah, I guess once the red mist descends, you never know how you are going to react in a race, especially when you see the leader right in front of you and it is your last chance to pass. Personally, I would hate to be taken out like that, so I wouldn't be like that on track.......I don't think!

Without doubt the best rider of his generation but being a Biaggi fan, I was never going to like him. Go Lorenzo!

Regarding the Philllip Island race, it would be great to have these guys still announcing races! Funny as heck when they thought a bike had crashed and it was only the shadow of the helicopter going thru the gravel trap!
