| Re: MOTOGP Well if Stoner didn't get sick he would have been World Champ this year. No doubt in my mind, Congrats to Rossi though.
I can't wait till the next race, Ben Spies an American coming from the FIN racing series is making his debut on a Yamaha M1 machine. He is coming in hot and can't wait to see the 2 Texans for Tech3.
I still think that Honda has a horrible machine right now, never mind that they have a hobbit with the personality of a blank piece of paper, but I really didn't see then be all that competitive at all. Heads up to Toni Elias, for a satellite rider he is pretty good and deserves a bike next year.
Oh yeah I forgot about Lorenzo, man that guy is good, hopefully he doesn't go down hill from here on.

| Re: MOTOGP I think all the moves Rossi made were calculated, he showed everyone he could do it (OK the circumstances changed with the rain) by taking pole.
I think he purposley let the pack pass him falling back to 8th to take his time and to ensure he stayed on to get the valuable points that secured the 2009 championship, this is why he is the GOAT.
Felt it for Elias so close!
Yes, Stoner does look like the serious man for 2010 he is a brilliant rider no doubting that, that Ducati kicks butt on the straights there's no touching it.
Well done Rossi you are the man. |

| Re: MOTOGP I don't think that going wide on the first turn and losing spots is planned at all. If he lost a few spots on the first couple of laps because he warming the tires yeah, but a mistake I don't think so. I don't doubt the man though, for the matter of fact if I could get some of what ever he has, that'll be great. I was a little bored with this year, that gaps between these bikes sometimes kills the race for me.
Anyways, I wish I had a ducati like Stoners, haha. That machine is sexy. |

Stoner is going to be unbeatable in 2010 | I remember calling it in another thread somewhere so it came as no surprise for me(not to toot my own horn), agreed about stoner, but still watch out for Lorenzo. |

| Re: MOTOGP **spoilers** Congrats to Rossi - he is still the best.
And even as a Stoner fan I dont think he would have won this year.
While he has done well when fit, Rossi still has very few bad rounds - he is nearly always on the podium.
While this season hasnt had a lot of close finishes, its had a decent amount of variety with Pedosa and Lorenzo also riding well.
Only 1 more to go - then it will be the big wait for next season. |

Well done Rossi you are the man. | I agree he wanted to stay on the bike to get his 12 pts for the title, but running wide in turn one couldnt have been part of that. It is way to risky to be bunched up like that and then factor the rain...DNF waiting to happen. I think he raced PI and Sepang smart (maximum points without high risk chasing Stoner). I dont think any racer would plan to run mid pack and risk getting caught up in traffic for lower placement or a crash.
He really wanted to wrap up the title because next year, the engine rule will be very hard to manage without getting penalized grid spots and points. Suzuki and Yamaha Tech 3 have already run into this (5 engines for 7 rounds) and they still have 1 more race to go. Next year it is 6 engines all season,so be ready for underpowered bike that might be breaking down during race weekend. |
