The stock throttle is a 1/4th turn which is 90 degrees of rotation from full close to full open. The HRC 1/6th kit is 60 degrees of rotation which allows you to go from full close to full open without re-adjusting your grip. It also makes it easier to blip the throttle while down shifting as less wrist movement is required. |

| Re: HRC 1\6th throttle kits you'd have to get an RC51 stop switch and an F4i cable (I can't remember if it's the pull or push cable). Then you have to rewire the RC switch. I had the whole procedure along with pics up on the site before the big softwear change. But they've since been lost. |

I have enough knowledge to check and adjust chain etc and to if i wanted to change oil and filters, but i usually get that done by a local mechanic.
where does fitting a quick action throttle fit in with that level of experience |

As long as you can remove your throttle grip and remove your air box then it should be no problem. I minor tune up would be oil, oil filter, plugs, fliters ect. |

But seriously, seems like that would be the case. Current driveline lash on my stock bike is a little harsh and I was wondering if this would make it worse. Maybe its only a matter of perception. I'm just getting around to installing a PCIII and doing some other light mods so I've yet to see what effects they have. I'll probably get the kit anyway since I don't like having to readjust my grip, but never hurts to ask for more info. |

As long as you take your time to get use to it just like you should with any mod you do to your bike you should be fine, it's not like your adding NOS. |

Reminds me of letting my buddy try my 929. I forgot to tell him that the front brake comes on late compared to other bikes. He thought he was without front brakes and almost went head on into an oncoming car! |

kinda what i was thinking. I'd love to have this kit, but i'll probably only keep this bike for one more year before i get a 1098 so it would be a waste for me. |

DO NOT LET ANYONE TELL YOU THAT IT IS EASIER!!! THAT WOULD BE TOTAL BULLSHIRT!!!
Using first gear with a 1/6th turn throttle is tricky at best. Even when you get used to it, first gear is not easy. Then add a -1 +2 on your gearing and you're in for an exiting ride. |

I couldn't imagine coming out of a mountain road hairpin in first gear and hammering the throttle. Even in second on any roadway.
Yes it is easier to go 10/10ths with a 1/6th turn throttle (I have one). But it is way harder to go 6 or 7/10 ths with a 1/6th turn throttle in tight canyon roads. |
