That won't be very easy to sell on, there's surely only a handful registered in the UK.

Re: FL02 FGA erion liveried fireblade stolen

Bought this old one. Ain't the same and has a few niggles namely electrical. But mechanically it's solid. Looks nice too and already ordered new back n front Oxford blue mudguards

Sorry about the loss of the Erion, that was surely a nice looking ride.

BUT, the ad you showed for the new "98" looks like a Frankenstein of sorts. A true 98-99 RRW RRX would NOT have the older black front calipers. They would also have much larger 310mm rotors (judging by the photos they look like 296mm with the amount of wheel spokes showing). The forks are also identifiers. No duel colors like that on the W or X, the caliper hanger is from a 94-97 mold, and another odd thing is the rear shock reservoir is on the wrong side of the sun frame. It looks to me like someone put the 98-99 fairings on a 96-97 chasisis.

Any chance you would be keen on showing the VIN?

Re: FL02 FGA erion liveried fireblade stolen

I read about the thieving **** heads using lorry mounted cranes etc to remove bikes quickly. Bolt cutters or angle grinders to remove chains etc.
So till me and the missus move to a place that's secure namely a lockup.. I'm happy to ride about on a shed. Least it's quick.!! And the carbs sound nice idling.
If anyone has any spares I'd be happy to collect... UK only hehe

Well that confirms a 98W. However, the front end appears to be 94-97 RRR-RRV (UK).

If it is a true older front end, really the only thing that would concern me would be the shorter spread of the forks from the steering stem and the reduced trail.

Can you tell if the lower triple tree clamp is painted black steel or anodized aluminum?

Ok, confirmed that the entire front end is from a 95-97.

Which, is only as I stated before; reduced trail, smaller brakes, and slightly different compression/rebound settings.

And from coming from the Erion unit, you'll only know what you were already used to.

And please don't think I'm bashing the 98, not true. I just like folks to know what they have, especially with the older girls

Re: FL02 FGA erion liveried fireblade stolen

The for the info I appreciate the expertise. I'm new to biking and having driven artics for 25 years I don't appreciate the differences of what I have now compared to wot was half inched. The erion looked the bolox. Pullwise I don't notice much difference. Perhaps as time goes by I will notice.
Once again the for the tech info
