sorry to hear about your loss. sucks man. I know this sounds stupid, but theives again are not the smartest people alive...so, having said that, keep an eye on the classifieds of your local newspaper.

dude i just moved in to that neighbourhood and live in a apartment with a carport as well and i see a lot of bikes parked outside with only a cover nevr the less ill keep my eyes peled i ride down ortega hyw. and glendora ridge mnt baldy area so ill be look'n.

Hey welcome to the neighborhood. I was one of them who kept the bike in the carport with only a cover. This was my first place without a garage, so I never thought of my bike getting stolen. I strongly recommend the bike to be securely chained with a motion sensing alarm.

Nevertheless, it's a great neighborhood. You should check out the Korean BBQ that recently opened in the corner of Devonshire and Reseda. Good stuff.
