| Stolen... 2003 954 in Titanium (Northridge California) My baby is gone. Some F**KER stole it out of my carport. It's a pretty much stock 954RR in Titanium color. The most noticible things on the bike are the red rim stripes and a black and gold HyperPro RSC steering damper. It was stolen last night (Aug, 11) from my carport in Northridge which is in Southern California.
I don't have recent pictures of the bike, but I had taken some pictures when I had a low side last year of the damages. Most of the damages in the pictures are fixed.
This sucks...I was just done with a $1000 fix-up trying it to bring it back to life. |

| Re: Stolen... 2003 954 in Titanium (Northridge California) That is very sad to hear. I wish you luck with the recovery of your bike and I hope you get to practice your martial arts all over the dirt bag who is responsible. Any VIN or licence you want to publish here? I will also push this thread out as much as I can to spread the word. |

If you get another bike and get yourself a cover, newyork chain, paging alarm system and maybe even cycle tracker or lolack. I actually live in a apartment and the super lets me keep mine inside

They say they get a lot of stolen bike reports and can't do much better than that. It seems to me that it'll be a minimal effort.
I only had liability insurance on the bike...
I live in a relatively safe neighborhood, and live in a gated townhouse community, so I didn't think it'd be necessary to use a chain or an alarm. I was wrong. I think someone had been scoping out on the bike for sometime. I only use a cover and park in adjacent to my car. The bike was always next to a big metal pole, but never bothered to use it. Stupid...
BTW, here is the VIN: JH2SC50173M100722
Don't know where to find out my plate number... |

| Re: Stolen... 2003 954 in Titanium (Northridge California) I found some websites where I can register my bike stolen. However, I wonder effective these registries are, other than to provide my personal information public... I did, however, listed my bike on a couple of these sites... _Stolen Motorcycle Page_ by Pete Weinman Stolen Motorcycle Registry |

| Re: Stolen... 2003 954 in Titanium (Northridge California) The police here found many bikes stolen from abroad this summer. I don't think your 954 would be sold in a remote country like mine but I'll examine every bike that looks like yours. Good luck. |

| Re: Stolen... 2003 954 in Titanium (Northridge California) TKD, I'm sorry for your loss man, as well as your's V-max (I was at Mid Ohio and talk to you on this forum last week). I was in Memphis, TN a few years ago with a Camaro/Firebird Club and had a buddy loose his Firebird to theft. The Police told us things we could do that could help them out that I thought was interesting: Go to any place that takes bikes in on trade, and give them as much info as you can to help identify your bike, so if the theiven jerks try to trade it in on something (this happens, as they aren't to bright in the first place), the dealership can help nab them. If there were any distinguishing pieces that were damaged and needed replaced, that a dealership might sell, you can reuest that they get the customer's info and contact you (probably long shot on this) if they show up to place an order. Check out small mom n pop shops that do service as well. Hit as many local bike nights, club events, race events and what not looking for your bike. 'Course all the web paths which you seem to be getting good advice on... Talk to all neighbors (you probably already did that) Check Apartment surveillance vids (if available) I've heard there is huge market in South America for stolen bikes and many of them are on a boat within days of being nabbed. Not what you wanted to hear I'm sure. My heart goes out to you guys, my condolences!

I'm not sure what's the best format to have an e-flyer, but I tried to create a word document that you can edit if you'd like. Sorry it took so long. It took me 2 days to figure out where I can find my plate number. It was written on my title! Thanks a lot.

Not what you wanted to hear I'm sure. My heart goes out to you guys, my condolences! | Thanks for the advise. I've been wondering around places both (physically and virtually) where I might find the bike like a ghost for the last three days, and it got me more depressed than anything. Many of my friends are telling me that unless these guys are really really stupid (I hope they are), I won't find anyone joyriding the bike... It is most likely to be on its way to an international market, or being stripped to the core.
I decided to let go. If it does show up, it'd be great, but if not...then farewell. The 2007 600RR looks so sweet anyway. Just give me a few days to forget my ex... |

| Re: Stolen... 2003 954 in Titanium (Northridge California) skorpia, the pictures were taken back in Decemeber after a low side. Most of the damages are now fixed, and I have a frame sliders. No fender eliminator kit, but I cut the fender to only show the plate. The mileage was a bit more than 21K. The replaced plastics were not new, so they all have scuff marks on them. I also have a 520 conversion kit with different gearing, but it'd be hard to tell by just looking. |
