| My baby was stolen... Well life certainly has a seriosly twisted sense of humor. Today my 2008 CBR1000RR was stolen out of the parking lot in front of the base I am stationed at. I had the rear wheel chained to the frame and the steering lock was locked. What amazes me is that whoever stole my bike did it in broad daylight in a busy place. Aparently the new blade is easy as hell to ride away since the only evidence on the scene was a couple of stripped wire ends. What makes this hurt even more is that the bike was not insured...bonehead move I know, but I was actually on my way to grab my bike insurance from my State Farm agent this afternoon. This is the second time Karma has kicked me in the face with this bike, first was my low side when I had frame sliders in my backpack, and now this. I plan on getting another bike eventually, but taking a 12000 dollar loss on the spot (paid the bike off the day I bought it) hurts more than I can describe. I wish you guys and gals well and hopefully I will be back in the saddle of a new blade sooner rather than later.
Just in case anyone in the San Diego area sees my blade running around or gets parts, it was silver and red and the VIN is JH2SC35188M00686. Peace. |

| Re: My baby was stolen... Man that is tragic. I hope you catch the scumbags that took your bike, sounds like pros the way you describe it. I do wonder what they will do to unload a new model, probably wait around for a wreck .. Dam.

| Re: My baby was stolen... First in Alabama (and I believe most states) you are covered for a short period on a new vehicle. Check into this IMMEDIATELY the time is short, hopefully you can get on the phone tonight. Also I would hope base security has some video and can aid you in capturing this scum. Hope this helps some.

| Re: My baby was stolen... I know how it feels bro...had my -04 1000RR stolen just a couple of weeks ago outta the parking garage at my apt.
Cops haven't done much, but they've got video of the bastards! You can see it here. This happened on 8/28 @ 3:30am YouTube - Motorcycle Thieves
The only good thing to come out of it was me getting an '08.
Hope they catch the bastards that clipped your ride. |

| Re: My baby was stolen... The thief that stole my bike, (his name Robert House) was caught and pleaded guilty yesterday. He will be sentenced on Oct 1, at the Long Beach Court. Cops do catch these guys and bikes do come back to you...sometimes. |

| Re: My baby was stolen... Sheep of Blue is correct, and that is the way it is in california too. I have state farm, and if you have any vehicle already insured with them, you have a few weeks 'grace' period to register any subsequent vehicle with them. Like I get in a wreck with a Benz that I just bought. It was less than 7 days since I got it and they covered it. |

| Re: My baby was stolen... Wow I feel for you it makes me kind of leary of getting a sportbike model
seems they are targets for theft. I hope your insurance can cover it (with the grace period) let us know the outcome. I hope that your karma is in a better place maybe have a cleansing. Good luck. |
