| Re: Sideshow bobs fighter (a work in progress) Progress update: Today I started the respray on Tank And In between coats I decided To try get the bike running properly... as previously stated "she's been a pig to start"... Today I found out why! If fireblades.org decide to run a awards ceremony, I would like to nominate Myself for the Mentaly Retarded/Stupid Fukwit Of The Year Award...... .... So... Coat of primer drying on the tank.. I decide to fire the gixxer up.. becouse 1) I've got the stubby on and wanna hear how she sounds. & 2)to try figure out the starting issue/Cr@p Idle. First off.. Usual thing... flatten battery trying to start Her Move van round to JUMP start her.. no joy manually fill up carb bowls.. turn her over.. splutter splutter BRooo... ...... eventualy she fires..runs for a bit.. gets a bit lumpy.. then wont idle .... appears to be missing on one cylinder.. NO!.. 2 cylinders So No3&4 not firing... change the plugs..... still the same decide to swap the plugs from 1&2 with 3&4 to see if that changes things.... It didn't So swearing.. I decide the carbs must need stripping.. must be some sort of fuel starvation? Possibly varnish buildup? (not surprising.. she not been run properly for years) Then.. with carbs in hand, I look down at them... see the two fuel feeds.. think TWIN for some reason?? light a fag.. sip some coffee (I really couldn't be bothered to strip them again) as I sit there contemplating the task in hand..... the word TWIN is kicking away at my grey matter with its steel-toecaped boots  Then.... the penny drops.!!!!!!Its a Dual fed carbrettor, TWIN feed! Like a retarded monkey trying to peel a yellow stick.. Id only rigged up one fuel line... bl00dy idiot .... only supplying 2 of the bowls  Well.. put her back together.. fed fuel to Both lines...... She starts a dream.. Idles beautifuly

I tested the theory that I was being a Mentaly Retarded/Stupid Fukwit and tried again to start a Cold GIXXER... this time with twin fuel feed set up.....&...... I'm Happy? to report... Yes I was ..... She started beautifuly! and has a wonderfuly deep rumbly throaty roar  * ... might even suggest she sounds better than the Duke!! *Happier than a pig in sh!t thats just found out its owners are jewish

I've had a Re-think.... Original plan was small.... failing that BIG... .... and yesterday I found some 70's wipac lamps... and they look great!! So.... I've decided to use them
