Sorry folks, it had to go. Less is much much more.

| Re: My Completed Fighter Project Okay fellas, I've finally settled on the headlight set-up. I should also state publically that I will never again title a fighter-related thread with the word "Completed" anywhere in the subject line.
I took a financial leap and went with the LSL Urban Headlight Kit. I was close to going single, 7-inch with Monster-like carbon flyscreen, but this will truly complete the "updated" look I'm going for. Love getting people to guess what year/ model she is anyway. For some odd reason, that's fun for me.
Will post more images when I have the light on. Also getting ready to powder coast the wheels (just got new F3 17-incher!).

| Re: My Completed Fighter Project From what I understand it's very similar to the Yam MT03 light. LSL added the billet brackets and fork mounts. Found the kit at Spiegler USA. I ad expensive, but comparable to what I was going to do with custom parts and fabrication. Should look nice once I relocation my ignition barrel and mount it up.

| Re: My Completed Fighter Project I convinced myself that I had to have the light. Now, I hear that Spiegler is 4-weeks out from maybe having the light kit back in stock. Anyone know where else one could source LSL parts from? Other option is to buy the MT03 light and have a mount fabricated.

| Re: My Completed Fighter Project Thanks for the comments all! I will try to take more pics soon. Found out the light will be at least 4 weeks. So, I just might get the forks done and wheels powdered in meantime. I was also lucky enough to find a great deal on a straight 17-inch front wheel that I've not mounted yet.
Lastly, I still need to get the tach working on the Trail Tech speedo. All these things would be so much easier with access to my workbench/ tools and a garage rather than my shared apartment garage where I share a parking space with my housemate's SUV. Grrrrrrr.

| Re: My Completed Fighter Project Here it is! The latest part I've acquired all ready for paint. At this point, I've decided I will gather all new parts in one place, wait til the LSL Urban Headlight comes in, then do the install all at once. Preferably in a normal garage. I'm thinking my Mom's house which is in Oakland - just 15-minutes across the bridge from me.
Only kicker? I'm tasked with selling their vintage '95 RX7 which is covered and taking up all garage space. The deal is: I get car sold, I get garage space to work on my precious. Not that bad considering the light set-up won't be shipped for at least three more weeks.
In any case, dig the new part. It's an aftermarket undertail for my '02 R6 rear subframe. What I liked about it is the integrated license plate mount, bolt-on LED brake and signal lights and wide-mounted signals which might even pass typically stringent California DMV visual inspection. Best of all, this new online store -- PimpBike.com -- was selling at a great pricepoint.
Happy Friday all!

| Re: My Completed Fighter Project Thanks Adam! Rx7 is beautiful (attached). Perhaps the first car image on this site? With twin turbo only 13.2K and showroom condition, it's a collectors car which makes it tougher b/c they want more $ for it. Now I'm in the Rx7 Forums as well as Fireblades and CF.com.
Assume your referring to the gauges on the bike. I'm running the Trail Tech Vapor (also attached) mounted to the tube in middle of the handle bar. Still can't get the tach working properly b/c I've yet to connect it directly to the coil spade connector. Trail Tech tells me that is the answer. We will see.
BTW, just ordered my sub to CF magazine. Stoked!

| Re: My Completed Fighter Project Alright. Sold the folks' RX-7 Turbo, cleaned out the garage and got back after it. I must admit that Sideshow Bob's project ignited the passion a bit.
So, as you can see, her tank's off as is the R-6 rear bodywork. The battery is out and on the tender and the custom, LED-clad undertail and new V-Rod light (yup, I finally committed to the headlight set-up) are prepped for paint.
Also met a dude who owns a bar called Retox where the SF Hells Angels hold meetings. This guy fabs custom ape hangers for those guys and is interested in helping me set-up the V-Rod light mounts. Stoked!
Now I only have the following list to complete before she's road-going:
* Prime, paint, seal undertail and light
* Bring back mirror/ polished finish on frame and subframe
* Fabricate V-Rod headlight mount
* Fabricate rear plastic stay (battery tray sagging under present duties)
* Re-locate ignition switch (thanks for smart details CBRRRT!)
* Grind down ignition loop/ top triple
* ID ideal speedo and mount (I like the Motogadget Mini)
* Remove ****-ass Vapor speedo and find/ mount something better/ smaller
* R&R 16-inch wheel w/ 17-inch wheel
* Remove and paint headers, shorten pipe can (a lot!)
That would be it...I think. God I wish I didn't have to work during week.

BTW, you really are a master of the "cited" comment SSB. I've never seen anyone extend a parenthetical in such a user-friendly manner. Nice one!

| Re: My Completed Fighter Project RX-7 sold for $24.5K USD. Poor economic times or I could have sold it for much more. Only 13.5K miles on it. Was super nice to drive, but technically dated by today's standards. Kinda like my 16-some-odd-year-old 900rr.
