| My Completed Fighter Project Hey All,
I've been wanting to post my project for a while now. Been busy. Thought you guys might like to see how she turned out.
The project was inspired by both Mark Boxer's Australian Bladerod concept ( Project: Bladerod Photo Gallery by Mark Boxer at pbase.com) and an incomplete build where some dudes from the East Bay Rats fused an 900rr with an R6 tail. I loved the look and managed to adapt the Yamaha bits without too much fabrication.
I'm happy with her. Thoughts?

| Re: My Completed Fighter Project Headlamps are standard off shelf 4". Can't recall the brand. Here are a few more images I found from front and side. As you can see, I was going for a very industrial, almost robotic-looking from end. |

This pic is what set it off. " Johnny 5 is alive!"
Nice looking fighter though. It looks mean! |

| Re: My Completed Fighter Project Fantastic! Now I will be thinking of an effeminate robot from the 80s when I see my bike. Thanks for that! No, but seriously, it is quite mean looking. I've had two Ducati Monsters (900 and S4) and they were both very beautiful. This bike next to a Monster looks like the evil, more powerful Japanese step-brother. |

| Re: My Completed Fighter Project Thanks for the props people! Here are another two images I just dug up. As you can see, I could use an upgrade in the header department. But, the rear subframe fab worked really well in conjunction with the tank.
One of these days I need to post a thread with the complete build - start to finish. Only if there ever was a true "finish".
BTW, how did you guys add images/ profile pics to your posts? Can't figure that one out in account options. |

| Re: My Completed Fighter Project maybe fabricating a buell or custom front flyscreen would help hide the guages but even with the big clocks she still is a beauty!

| Re: My Completed Fighter Project Yeah. I thought about the Buell flyscreen path, but the gauges are mounted a bit too far out for that. I would be into scraping the stock gauges for something digital, but I hate electrical work and I'm not sure what I would have to do to the front end to make that work.
Been considering the 17-inch front wheel swap which might help. Anybody know of a solid digital swap that might help me clean-up in front? |

| Re: My Completed Fighter Project Yes actually, but I'm also starting to lose inspiration. Mostly b/c I'm now in an SF apartment with no access to my tools and workbench.
Just installed a Trail Tech speedo. Like the look, but still attempting to get the tach working.
Also ordered up parts to do a complete face transplant from the dual headlights to a single, round 7-inch Ducati Monster light w/ the following windscreen. Thought it would complete the bike, but the lack of tools to fabricate/ adapt the stock Ducati bracket has F-ed with my motivation/ inspiration.

so why you having trouble making the tach work?...
