Got the first stage of my 929 fighter completed.
At least I'm on the road and getting to grips with this sitting up with wide bars business
I managed to do as I started out to do - fighter the blade without the use of a hack saw or wire snips. This is mainly because I was starting off with a nice clean complete 929 and not an accident damaged bike. I reckon I could return it to standard in a Saturday afternoon. Down side is I have a few wires wrapped up and tucked under the new headlight bracket (not the tidiest I've seen but quite functional). You'll notice I've not painted it - again in an effort to retain originality for conversion back to standard.
Started off like this:
It now looks like this.

Work will be on going for a while, next job will be to replace the headlight unit with something smaller. This one is a German one and is okay - but it is bigger than I expected
The bike already had a PC and K&N filter but I've tweaked the gearing (one tooth down on front and one tooth up on rear

) - really makes a huge difference. I used a German 'extreme' jack up plate on the rear (lifts it quite a bit as you might expect). While in bits I gave the bike a good service (how much does good oil cost these days

)
Handle bars are tapered fat bars on an ABM yoke, extended clutch cable and braied (Hell) brake lines. I fitted an R&G radiator grill for athstetics.
Hope you like!
Cheers Raymond.
