| Chain mods the 'busahump' On my bike you can either run the the rear seat and factory grab rail -OR- you can remove the rail and run only the hump (you can't have both on at the same time). This presents something of a PITA when you want to go back and forth from hump to seat/rail because there are four 12mm bolts holding on the heavy steel rail.
No fuss no more.
With masking tape, my Dremel with a sanding drum and some patience, I relieved the bottom edge of the 'busahump' so I could bolt the rail on and go from hump to seat with the turn of a key. This will really prove nice when my Ventura tail bag system arrives later this week; interchangability in a matter of moments rather than minutes (the Ventura tubing mounts to the four Frankenbolts seen in these photos and, now, the Ventura hardware can be bolted on and left in place irrespective of whether I'm humping or two-upping).
Sorta looks like a spoiler or something now, pretty cool methinks. Best of all, zero cost.

| Re: Chain mods the 'busahump' Oh, you're talking about the triple-black roadster in the background? LOL, I wish! I did the work over at a buddy's house. We had a couple cold beers on our day off and sat around the garage, yaking and playing with his new yellow lab pup.
Anyway, that's his Vette, not mine.

We talked about this in another thread. The rumored redesign got binned once Triumph nixed the "busa killer" project earlier this year. Or so it goes.
No matter, I like this one. |

I know MCN is crap just figured I could find something on their site relatively quick. I've read the same diatribe in a few zines. Looks like it will just be an updated model, not a total redesign. I know if they update the cosmetics, we could see you with yet another new bike |

| Re: Chain mods the 'busahump' I'll be.
Well, MCN is sometimes correct so we'll just have to wait and see. Maybe after the Triumph project went south, they quit talking about penning a whole new bike and just decided to "modernize" the look w/o totally changing the bike. If all they do is give the bus a different headlight (personally, I dig the bullet train-esque light on the current bike), I'll be a happy camper. A 10kg reduction in weight is nothing to sneeze at, but the bike's weight disappears at speed anyway, so...
Cool link though, thanks. |

You need a bigger spoiler though, maybe one of them Fast and Furious wings will do the trick.

| Re: Chain mods the 'busahump' Why do you need the hand rail on there at all? No passenger in their right mind holds on behind their back anyway. |

The answer is, when you run the passenger seat w/o the grab rail, there are two pretty good sized cutouts in the lower portion of the saddle which makes it apparent there is something missing. It simply looks better with the rail on than it does w/o I guess.

| Re: Chain mods the 'busahump' Bro, you are amazing. You have a talent for explaining bling that just has me astounded. I wish I had your talent. How about you explain to my wife why I need to get a full Ti Arata exhaust and rear set?
I think the bike looks great. How about a test ride??? |

| Re: Chain mods the 'busahump' Ah, the big difference between your two scenarios is, your Arata will set you back a cool grand-plus; my hump mod cost me a half hour and a sanding drum, both of which I already had.

I need to come up with a better excuse than - "it will make the bike look better." She just does not buy that one. |

Ah. On the Interceptor, if you remove the grab rails, it comes with two body-colored inserts to put over the holes. |
