| Thinking about a Busa, HARD..UPDATE!! My buddy calls me tonight and says he is selling his 1300 Busa, he has a 1397 kit Busa also. When I spit a shim, I rode that Busa the rest of the weekend. Only motor work is Intake cam in place of the Exhaust cam. I ran a 5.99 and 9.31 on it on motor on the 3rd pass. The rest were eliminations so I was backing out of the throttle. This bike is EMACULATE, he's been the only owner, I know every wrench turned on the bike. Couldnt ask for a better kept bike. He's run a 8.98 on spray with it, and runs 9.20's on motor, it is the quickest 1300 motor Busa I have seen at the tracks.
My delima is I am so consistant and so fast on the Blade, it will be such a big difference jumping from bike to bike, and be able to stay consistant on both bikes. I just dont know how much longer the Blade will hold up, the valves and rods can't hold the power the Busa's can, and I only spray when I NEED it, so thats easier on the motor, but I just dont know. He'll sell it to me for 9K, and he has it on dragbike.com for 11.2K. Value is around 6,900, but he has probabl 5K extra in it, so its a good deal for me. HUHHHHHHHHH what to do what to do.

Sonicsbomb is running 9.20's-9.30's spraying, and I believe we would be running the same numbers if he ran on motor only....I'm running 9.50's. Haven't had a spray run since I got the motor put back together, thats when it spit the shim. |

| Re: Thinking about a Busa, HARD Well, my girl IS NOT HELPING ME AT ALL, well, too much!!!! She keeps telling me to buy the darn Busa...she knows I want it bad, but I keep telling myself, its only 3 tenths faster in the 1/4 than mine, motor to motor. So she tells me tonight, "go to freakin bank already....I'll help ya make the payments"......I said what, the 1st payment...she says..."the 1st to the last"....OMFG!!!!!!! I am so freakin nervous about buying another bike, I keep telling myself, you cant run both bikes where we run the 1/8th at cause there isnt enough bikes for me to go, then get back in line and race again, or if they will even let me race two bikes for elimination. My buddy selling it says his buddy has a complete 54 motor but has a cracked or broken motor mount and needs to be welded. Guess the bike had about 2K miles on it and went down, tore the frame up pretty good I guess. Said he would probably sell it to me for around $800. So.................I'm still in this big delima on what to do, why cant things be easy????? |

| Re: Thinking about a Busa, HARD..UPDATE!! Only men of "questionable" sexual preferences and those suffering from penile disfunction...don't hate me it was in MCN or some some such rag, ride 'Busas.
Me, I say if it feels good, no matter how "un-natural" it is and no innocents are getting hurt...do it.

| Re: Thinking about a Busa, HARD..UPDATE!! doesn't seem like its worth it. find a leftover 04 1000rr and start racing that, if you're only 3 tenths slower than the busa with your 954 you can make the 1000rr faster.
just trying to make the decision as hard as I can

No silly, that wouldnt work...that would cost me over 12K to set it up for the strip. This is track ready/proven for a few K less. |

This is track ready/proven for a few K less. | you don't have to get it ready right away, ride the thing first. break it in on the street for awhile. but if you really want my opinion I think its just not worth it for a few tenths. that thing needs to go on a serious diet to really go faster.
