I don't mean to begin a debate on CVs versus FI, but jetting carbs is fun IMO.
Maybe I'm just old.... |

Good Luck! | I am leaning toward a wait. This seems like a deal and good entry point but the timing stinks. Besides taking a weekend to see, I just got my trailer. Also I screwed my wrist up again last weekend so riding is stopped and I might have to attend to that

| Re: Should I buy a Suzuki I just got notified of a 900rr track bike, needs plastics $500....not going to jump on the first one I hear of tho....this one sounds WAY to sketchy for me. "Good things come to those who wait" right?
And its not fuel injected |

| Re: Should I buy a Suzuki D'oh it might be sold. But thanks for the input everyone, a special thanks to coryln for the offer to go and look (I will PM you). Lots of good feedback so I can know more on what to look for next time. Of course now that I need to wait I can build more $$$ and maybe get fancier

Maybe I'm just old.... | Of course, if you start with the '03 or newer you'll be getting 70 hp stock, then can build from there.

| Re: Should I buy a Suzuki They guy is located in Annapolis, MD which is about 1.5 hours from me. If you are really interested in this bike and no .org members are in that area I can go take a look at the bike for you to do a pre-assessment. Best if you get pics sent to you before you make any further decisions. |

I figure track bike, over 40 class and vintage are potential use before replacement. I admit I would rather have FI but Any other thoughts? Other wise board folks?

Are you going to race?
If I were going to buy a 600 I wouldn't buy a '95 model that has already been raced. (for how long???) But that's just me.... |

Not sure on the race thing for me but would like to keep the option open if I can do so at a decent $$. The alternative is still an RC, more $$ but if I didn't do a lot of track time I could make it road worthy also I have until June but would rather not waffle until the last

| Re: Should I buy a Suzuki The old CBR 600 engines are nearly bulletproof, and for the money you would get a fun track bike.
That said, finding an F3 for the $2-2.5K price is a piece of cake, and the F4s aren't a whole lot more if you want to hold off to find one. |

| Re: Should I buy a Suzuki Personally, I would hold out for a fuel injected bike. My buddy who I go to many track days with has a carb'd gixxer (track duty only) and we spend anywhere from 15mins. - 30 mins. getting his bike started and warmed up in the mornings. That's just my take on the FI vs. carb'd bikes. I picked up my F4i (street; been down twice w/ cracked plastic; never tracked or raced) for $2700. I'm pretty sure that if you do a little more snooping that you'll find something turn key that is FI. Like I said in a previous post, I saw a lot of nice and cheap track bikes in AL. |

| Re: Should I buy a Suzuki I'd go with a 750 or smaller bike. The wera page has several newer well set- up race bikes for sale. Most have 5000.00 or more in upgrade already done to them. If you have never set up a race bike i think thats the way to go. Everything is done for you. Of course you taking a chance with the motor frame and several other possible problems. But thats with anything you buy used.
Alsso the 600's are way more fun to ride than the liter bike in | |
