| Should I buy a Suzuki There is a SV650 '00 with a '01 engine and R1 plastic (???) that has a clean MSO but never been titled. Flat black with some use but only $2K. Thinking Grattan bike.

A friend of mine's wife has one ('00 I think) and he took it to Grattan one time. he loved it. Now that he bought her a Sprint RS, he's gonna use it as a track bike. he said an exhaust, a good jet kit and a filter and some sticky rubber would be all that's required.
PM me if you want more details. Chain buys a Suzuki and gets flamed for months. (Certainly, he's still getting flamed, isn't he!!) The Sheep asks permission and everyone wants him to get it!!
What am I missing?? I mean, I like Suzuki's, I've owned two, but what's up?
(Sorry bout the jack Sheep)

(Sorry bout the jack Sheep) | Well mine is to help keep the 1KRR more road ready vs the evil Chain spreader of Busa lore. This would be my first Suzuki, lots of Yamaha dirt bikes and Honda road bikes but never a Kaw or Suzuki
EDIT: in other words I am not getting rid of ANY hondas to get this.

| Re: Should I buy a Suzuki 2000 sounds like a good deal, but remeber what they say "if it sounds too good to be true, it normally is" If it is as good as it sounds, jump on it, just make sure that it is not stolen or something like that. Mind you a baby blade would look nice in the trailer beside big brother. I'd say go for it if it checks out and rides straight. |

He claims to have the Manufacters Origin papers but never been registered (always a race bike) The other pain is that it is in FL so a haul to go and see if he is a loser On the other hand for $2K it would be a decent track bike to start on And the 1KRR doesn't need a baby next to it but an RC but that is probably out of the budget anytime this year.

| Re: Should I buy a Suzuki How much are you looking to spend? there are all kinds of good bikes out there as I am sure that you know...I know that once I get something in my mind I have a hard time seeing the "big picture" I dont know how much of a pain, if any it would be to buy a bike for you out of state, but a trip to florida with a trailer would be an expense, plus all of the time that you would have to spend to get there and back. I would be "weary" of this guy, I dont know how things work in the states as far as registration goes but, something sounds funny? Maybe you should get the serial's from it and get one of the .Org crackpots(I mean law enforcers ) to run it for you? |

| Re: Should I buy a Suzuki Uh, it has R1 bodywork, which means it will automatically be better than any other bike besides an actual R1. Plus all the ladies (and sissies) will gawk at your bike thinking it's the best looking bike on the planet!! |

I could easily afford $2K and could take the truck down (no trailer needed). Plus I have folks on the other side of the state, so long trip down and over then a day to visit and one day back Plus lots of bikes that used to be race bikes scare me on paperwork (lack of) as I am SUPER paranoid in this area.
That said I have no idea what to get and change my mind daily on target machine and budget Like the idea of a RC but that requires more $$ and have even considered a 600 or a newer SV. The main thing against a 600 is it limits me to the over 40 class if I race (no axe murderer class for me). The main thing against an SV is it is a Suzuki (I am a Honda/Yamaha fan)

| Re: Should I buy a Suzuki if owning a suzuki is a major worry, don't...I started my sportbiking life on a gixxer 600(97) and loved it, fast and uncomforatable. I have also ridden the new sv1000 and liked it quite a bit for a twin. I found the sv to be a lot more relaxed and comfy compaired to a replica as far as seating position goes and it would drop in to the bends nice, never really got to push it too hard though.
I would also look at replacement values and part costs, I have not seen many rc's in the scrap yards around here, but there is a lot more availible for them as far as preformance goes. So many options, maybe you should just send me your money and I will make an executive desicion for you |
