Maybe the fact that few that began on a 1000 sportbike are around should be a warning
You certainly can start on a 1000 (I don't recommend it) and survive but with his attitude the odds are low. On some that goes from zero to stupid in a heartbeat you need to restrict stupid from the controls.

| Re: GSXR 1000 a good bike for beginners?? "I have never went over 59 miles per hour but other riders are terrified of my heat." You know, I thought people were doing way to many drugs when I was in High School. Half these ****in kids today make me wonder how their brain even has enough left to keep them breathing and their heart pumping. We'll probably be reading about this idiot again after he trashed himself and the bike.

he hasn't gone over 59mph yet. probably because he's scared shitless to do anything more.

| Re: GSXR 1000 a good bike for beginners?? Back in the day. My first bike was a gixxer 1100. If you respect the power any bike will do. Bottom line. You hit the throttle too hard your gonna loop it. 1000. Have plenty of controllable power for just average street riding. Unfortunaltely, begining riders never take their time to learn the basics. |

"I have never went over 59 miles per hour "
Well there you go, he's never been out of first gear or past 9000 RPM. Or would it be 6000?
Wait till he finds out its got gears. He might hit 65 or 70. |

| Re: GSXR 1000 a good bike for beginners?? The following was posted on the Site were the GSXR post started. Looks like some else has the same opinion of many Firebladians.
"-- Not for beginners --
To the "gentleman" who posted a review on the new GSX-R1000 as being the perfect bike for a beginner street rider, I'll try to keep this simple so you can understand: YOU ARE AN IDIOT. The GSXR is a great bike for experienced riders. If you truely wish to become a good, responsible rider with real world skills, start on something smaller and work your way up. If you wish to spend $10,000 on a motocycle instead of $.30 on a bullet to the head, that's your choice but it makes the rest of the sportbike community look bad when you end up splattered acrost the road." |

| Re: GSXR 1000 a good bike for beginners?? To be honest, the sentence fragments are a welcome change from the customary "run-on with zero punctuation but for several gratuitous apostrophe's". At least he has capitals and periods. |
