Why Yoshimura?

I was just wondering if anyone can tell me why everyone and their brother seems to put a Yosh on their GSXR? I don't have a problem with it really, but I was curious if it is just a sheep mentality, or if that many people just like Yosh...
It's just really cliche to see a GSXR with a Yoshimura pipe on it, IMO.

Just checking to see if I missed the memo

I'm bored and thought I'd whore it up a bit...

Re: Why Yoshimura?

The partnership between Yoshimura and Suzuki racing goes back quite a ways.

Re: Why Yoshimura?

Yosh does the most testing for the gixxer's since they use them on their race bikes.

I bought my first bike and it had a Yoshimura full sytem. I have had them on every bike since. In my opinion they manufacture a high quality exhaust system.

Re: Why Yoshimura?

at a reasonable price.

As a few have stated, they also do the most research on Zooks, so theoretically, they should have the better product.

Re: Why Yoshimura?

While they do make a good product for a good price, they do not offer the performance of better systems on the market for any bike including Suzuki's. It is a sheep mentality and coz you see everyone with them, hell I know of guys that refer to pipes as Yoshi's, firstname they think of. That is marketing for you. That is how synonamous it has become. Now, they do make great stuff for the likes of Mladin etc, but they are WAY out of the price range of you and I. If you're chasing the most performance, you can do way better.
