Hey, why don't you let me work on your bike. I'm sure I can get you to have similar problems.
Oh yea, the last 900 I had would blow a Busa off the track. Then again it had a few more dollars invested in it than most Busa's do. |

E-**** YOU!
classic, best thread of the year!
I like the all black scheme on the Busas, and would even go so far as to put blingy chrome kanji stickers on it. And I'm not a chromy faggy stickers kinda guy.

| Re: pics of my hayabusa Almost one year exactly that I've owned this busa. By far the best bike I've ever owned or ridden.
11,000 miles - at least 4k of which was two up - VERY comfortable for a passenger. Obviously it isn't much of a canyon carver with the +5" arm but it does much better than I thought it would and it still rides like a Cadillac, besides if I was still into that I'd still have a 1000RR.
Just a little list of mods that I've done and some pics.
PCIIIUSB
Cycle Tek CO2 airshifter system
2-8 inch GSXR600 arm stretched and braced by Spencer Cycle
+2 vortex rear sprocket with EK ZZZ chain
airbox mod/K&N/pair valve removed
Full Muzzy 4 into 1
Custom nitrous setup - dynojet/NOS/Schnitz racing/Tiger Racing
Power Commander hub with switch for two maps (awesome product)
- one map for NOS and another for natural aspiration
Pazzo levers
Speigler brake and clutch lines
Brocks ultra clutch mod with HD clutch springs
clutch slave cylinder support
Raptor shift light
GIPro gear indicator with TRE (turned off)
Tobin seats
Spencer adjustable lowering links
MPS lowering strap
HVMP heavy bar ends (recomend these for guys who regularly do over 200 miles per day)
speedohealer with top speed recall
turned out 164 RWHP natural and 212 on juice
This fall it's going turbo.

My legs aren’t as strong as they were before the accident so I had trouble backing the thing up while parking etc. This thing is heavier than my RR’s were by a mile – and you can definitely tell in the parking lot – it’s a tank. I was intending on eventually raising it back up but now I sort of like it lowered. I don't do the twisty thing very much so why not? Ghotchkiss: That’s the cal-sportbike gear indicator – very happy with it. It was sort of a necessity -- the accident left me with drop foot on the left side. I can’t move my foot up, I can only press down. This was my biggest challenge in riding again – or so I thought. I already wear a brace to hold my left foot up so I don’t drag my toes when I walk. To upshift I just pull my whole leg up. I honestly missed about ¼ of my upshifts for the first few thousand miles but by now I have it down (knock on wood). I was looking into electric shifters but now realize I don’t even need it. Lucid: it’s like Custom900 said, you can’t even compare the two bikes. Absolutely apples to oranges – super sport to sport touring. This is not the bike I would have preferred before my accident, but it is now. In a perfect world (aka Pete's world) I'd have both. Pete: almost forgot – like phobe said – e-****you! Sorry to be so long winded – maybe this busa’s making me like Chain? | Nice bike. I do have both, apples and oranges I agree. I call the busa the freight train ... wider and heavier ... scary crazy fast. cbr, way light and flickable, and much more fun for the weekend twisties ... and also scary fast.

GSX1300R Hayabusa ('05) 10/05 10.02 @ 143.7 3.13 3.31 CBR1000RR ('06) 6/06 9.898 @ 146.47 2.76 2.58
and yes my 07RR is faster... Maybe not after 175mph.. but the numbers speak for themselves... |

and Im not a busa hater.. I owned one... the 06/07RR along with most of the 1000's are faster... But I must say that comfort and power and top end go to the busa.. I ride with a ZX-14 and a 06 busa.. Its a great bike though...

| Re: pics of my hayabusa I think the Busa is the best all around bike on the planet... The new 08 Busa is a work of art... IMHO.. I wasn't hating on your Nice Busa... I owned a Busa a few years back it was a great bike.. It was all stock... Its just when I got my 07 CBR 1000 all my friends who where around when I had my last busa where like "why didn't you get another busa they are fast" I would tell them most newer 1000s are faster and they would laugh.. When really the busa's rwhp is 155-160hp range. http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/photos/hay_zx14hp.jpg http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/photos/hay_zx14torq.jpg
Which is the same range as the 1000's.. And of course the busa is a heavy bike... the new 08 busa weighs 485 dry probally around 550 wet...that's 100 lbs more than a wet 07 1KRR.. so 7 or 8 lbs per hp... puts the busa well below even the 07RR in hp.. more than 12hp below.. Before I got my 071kRR in feb I spent 2 weeks at the Suzuki dealership sitting on a 07 Busa, they where going to sell me one for less $9500 out the door... It was a very tuff decision.. The Busa has great touring capability and is a beast.. I just think that there is a little misconception about the bike...
And of course that NOS beast you have is awsome.. |
