| 04-05 GSXR 600/750 chrome rear wheel ok so I lied, I'm not really selling it. but it would be funny considering the circumstances in which this wheel came into my possession.
A few months ago (March I believe it was) a friend of mine was waiting to get his rims back from the dealer after being chromed. They wouldn't give them to him until he paid even though he was a very loyal customer and had spent probably over $1500 or maybe even $2000 there in stuff. So he convinced me and another idiot friend to let him put it on our credit cards and he'd pay us back when he got his tax return. well when he tax return came the kids mom took the money because he owed her a lot of money. a couple weeks go buy and I guess he paid off the other guy after being hounded for it. So here it is about 3 months later and I start getting persistant in asking for my money (for the rim and blinkers and tankslappers that I ordered for him because he doesn't have a credit card). So stupid me is in the hole about $600. He makes enough money after taxes in 1 week to more than cover that.
So I got fed up with his attitude about it that I came up with the idea a week or 2 ago to go his house one day when he's working and take his rear wheel. First attempt was last week but he had the bike with him at paramedic school. So I go back today and walk into the backyard to be greated by his father the police Lt. sitting by the pool. So I tell him I'm here for the rim because he owes me money. He says thats fine and cracks a smile. So he asks me to wait a minute while he calls him, ok we get a hold of him a few minutes later and talk. he doesn't have the money so I tell him I hope he enjoys not riding for awhile.
So now I have a shiny chrome rear gixxer rim with a nice michelin pilot power with plenty of meat left on it occupying some space in my shed.

| Re: 04-05 GSXR 600/750 chrome rear wheel Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
I occassionally work on other people's bikes and I always wonder whether or not the customer is going to pay up. After all, it is my personal cashe tied up and most of the time I do it as a hobby and try not to really make a dime from what I do. In the long run I figure that the most that can happen is that I end up with another bike to tear apart, stretch, slam, re-bore, etc. for a new track toy.
Hey, if the fellow doesn't pay you can at least feel better knowing that you have the support of his dad.
Oh, and you can also chalk up knowing you have learned a lesson about at least on guy that WAS a friend. |

yeah but then I'd have to report him to ebay as a nonpaying buyer and I'd still have a chrome rim.
I hope this can be a sort of wakeup call to him to get his **** straight. although I doubt it because the repo man has come for the bike twice already.

well there's nothing I need, only thing that will fit my bike from his are the tires. Each time the guy has come he couldn't find the bike (because he isn't allowed to go into the garage in back even though its open. The just left a note then he'd go down and pay the bill. he claims his mother hid/took the bill when it came in the mail. bs it comes every month there's no excuse, find it you know you have to pay for it, the bike wasn't free.
I suspect I get my money within a few weeks though.

I hope you learned a lesson out of this - friends don't let friends get chrome.

Some people don't learn unless the lesson is truly personal and painful. Congrats on having the stones to go get it. And as already stated, hope ya learned your lesson. |

I didn't steal anything. I paid for the wheel, it was mine. Cant steal your own stuff. if I hadn't paid for it, it would still be sitting at the dealership. He was borrowing it from me as far as I'm concerned.
You weren't helping me at all. I didn't have any rotors to sell you so how would I be making some of my money back. I think you checked your brain at the door, you can pick it back up on the way out If you want I can sell you some air at a really good price before you leave.

You think a judge would believe, "He was borrowing it from me as far as I'm concerned"
I don't think he would. Quote:
