Help me with my 99 Katana 750

Just jot a 99 Katana 750 and love it but have a few questions.

1) It seams when I get on it hard the Tach gets up to 7K and then shoots up to 10K+ instantly but it does not feel like I am accellerating. If I accelerate constantly it does not happen. Anyone have any thoughts?

2) When I got the bike it had a M4 slip-on. Do I need to re-jet the carbs?

If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

At 7k, its just coming into the powerband good. Your clutch is slipping.
