Finally sold the 954....check out the new bike!

Only had it for a month but the most noticible differences are ofcourse .....power, balance (very very nimble) and comfort(I really miss the 954 seat ). Tell me what you think of my bolt ons so far.

Wouldn't your rear plate scrape when you lean for your left turns?

Re: Finally sold the 954....check out the new bike!

Nice bike! Always liked the Gixxer 1K's.

Some points to note:

- I'm not a fan of the 'Gixxer' writing under the tail. It looks both ridiculously ghey and ricey and totally cheapens a very formidable bike. C'mon man, everybody knows it's a Gixxer - you don't need to advertise it like that!
- Only a month and the rear tire looks like that? It's your life, but you have to stop doing burnouts. Your tire is fcuked and that won't help handling one bit. Although by the looks of that tire, you're only into going fast in a straight line, so scraping the plate is not an issue. LOL!
- If the above point is true, you might as well put an extended swingarm on it
- If you are into cornering, that rear tire is an accident waiting to happen my friend
- Would look better with thinner wheel stripes. I believe those are 10mm ones, but 6mm or even 4mm would look a lot better

Enjoy it.

Cheers,
Sime

I love your bike. She's one of the beautiful things I've seen on two wheels. Sime might not like the Gixxer transfers but you certainly won't hear any complains from me. Look after her, mate. I can imagine envious eyes plotting to get their grubby little mitts on her!

Apart from the license plate frame, the gixr sticker and that rear tire, I do really like it a lot. Love the color scheme. I could go either way on the wheel stripes. Would like to see them in person.
Nice bike.

Thanks everybody! Tires came on the bike Sime (lets see yours). Just tried to make it a little different then othe gixxers I see. The gixxer thing under the seat was just me messing around. As far as the 1krr.....I rode an 06 and it was nothing close to the riding expirience I was used to on the 954. Even though It didn't feel as powerful as my 954 I fell in love with the 07 repsol which was just to darn expensive compared to the deal I was offered for an 05 GSXR 1000 that arguably is a better performing bike thousands cheaper. To make a long story short I had to be smart, that just left me with more $$$ to customize with. They make so much cool aftermarket stuff for this bike it is insane!!!!!

Oh yeah....the curvy's. Just started flight school (US Army) so I've been really busy. Besides the fact that we are not allowed to do track days during flight school and only owning the bike for a month. Unfortunatly I haven't been able to ride of the chicken strips. Everyone can't be as cool as others, but I will get there in time.

whoever put the wheel stripes on either need glasses or to lay off the caffeine. the ends don't line up at all and make them look horrible. if they were lined up I'd like them. other than that, ummm the frame sliders look good.

I gave you something positive, I like the frame sliders and if the wheel stripe ends lined up I'd like them. I like the stock look of the bike but I figured you just wanted opinions on aftermarket stuff. only thing I actually hate is plate bracket.

edit: I forgot to ask, whats with the edge on the inside hole of the exhaust? looks like they melted that hole open rather than cutting it.

Re: Finally sold the 954....check out the new bike!

I painted the black outer portion. The inner inner I guess just looks like that. This exhaust is very hard to come buy. They recently had a recall for the baffle comming out. Everyone seems to be crazy over these hotbodies slash cuts. Unlike other slash cuts they do offer some sort of baffle. It still requires ear plugs.

Hope you got some dollars of the price for the state of that rear tyre, you wouldnt need a stand to keep it up.Lol
Bike looks nice though, the yellow and black suits the gixers sweet.
Get rid of the gixer sticker and number plate and it would look a treat, and some new rubber.
Cheers

Re: Finally sold the 954....check out the new bike!

Nice looking bike! Contrary to what has been said about the rear tire wear, I think there are a lot of miles left in it. The only drawback is you're gonna need to always be leaning left or right. As long as you never ride in a straight line, I think you'll be ok. :-) Aesthetically, the black/yellow scheme is nice, but I wouldnt go for that because the 1K is enough of a cop magnet without making it into a neon sign saying get out your ticket book and WATCH ME. LOL Of course, if you are always going to observe the posted speed (suggestions), then the extra attention isnt going to be a problem.

Congrats!

Re: Finally sold the 954....check out the new bike!

BigZantt, I like it; the yellow n black offers great contrast to one another. I also like the "clean look" so for me, the addition of the "gixxer" stickers is too much for my taste.

I don't mind the rim strips at all, may look better with the thinner width, but the thick doesn't look bad. I can't see the "mismatch" that CBR929RE is referring to, his eyes must be much better than mine.

Opinions will very; but I think yours is the most important opinion of your bike, enjoy it and don't take any of the negative comments too seriously bro!

BTW; Good luck with your flight training and be safe my friend. Thanks for your service to our country!

Exactly how long did you scour over the pictures before satisfying you desperate need to criticize his bike. Wheels strips? You must be joking.
