New Exhaust... where to start??

Hi,

I am looking to buy my partner a motorcycle exhaust for his birthday (a surprise) but know nothing about them. He has a Suzuki SV650, year 2005, K6.

His bike currently has the manufactures exhaust but he is looking for something that makes more noise. The Yoshimura exhausts look good but they have a price to match. I was wondering if anyone can offer me some advice on any other good brands that would suit the SV650 ..or are the Yoshimura's the best ones?

He mentioned something about baffle out ...?? makes it louder?? ...??

Any help would be most appreciated

Re: New Exhaust... where to start??

Hello,

Nice to know someone is looking out for their partner...

How about an Akraprovic or a Micron one? The baffle is the part inside which helps muffle the sound, on some cans they can be removable therfore allowing more noise... Different cans and makes give you different peformance and noises...

You can get road legal ones or race use ones too, over in england we have MOT's every year so i have to change it back to original for the test.

take care

Yoshimura race cans are pretty much developed for suzukis, a bit more expensive than your average can but well worth the money and they sound good too. however all manufacturers will have a fitment for your partners bike, if its only sound he is after you could look at ART or Viper, cheaper cans but sound pretty good (Thats if you can get them in the US)

Yosh is where its at...Some of their stuff right outta the box sounds good. But if you wanna check out yer options go to your favortie dealer. Talk to the parts guys. They usually ride and know whats sweet, in price range, and what sounds BA.

Yoshimura Exhaust for SV650

I am selling the Yoshimura RS3 SS oval exhaust with engraved logo aluminum exit from my wife's 05 SV650. It does not have an end cap baffle, and sounds really nice and is not too loud. You can order the low sound volume insert from Yosh. Exhaust includes can, hanger, mid pipe, springs, clamp AND complete Suzuki OEM headers and mounting bolts. Just bolt it on and go. No hacksawing/destroying your stock can. $375.00 US plus shipping. I'm willing to ship to OZ, but it might be expensive.
Here's a link to a video/sound clip:

PM me if interested.
