Would get this? (HUD) heads up display

I should point out that I like it, and a buddy of mine actually has it...I'm just not sure how solid the mounting system is.

I agree wonderful idea, just bad on the engineering of how to place it.
I'm sure a little more time on this system and they will be able to do it like the HUDs on fighter pilot helmets. However, those can cost upwards of about $60,000.

Lol, what I was saying is that it could be displayed on the visor of the helmet. Not that it would cost $60,000. The fighter pilot helmets are a lot more for other reasons. Like oxygen hook ups and who knows what other stuff -- radio connections and what not. However, I wouldn't be surprised if a helmet with that kind of stuff would cost over $1,000.

We are talking about the gov't, so they need a contractor to contract it out. The you have the pockets being lined and a congressman needing to bring business to his state, so he gets some favors called in. Then you have the group responsible for it, but all they do is manage the contractors that make it work. Then you need to train the people that manage the people who make it work. They won't ever touch them though. Confused? Good, now pay your taxes. Because the bidder that has the most connectiosn will win; probably the most expensive. Anyone need a $1,000 hammer or toilet seat?

Very much true. I have been in the USMC for over five and a half years now. Get out in Feb on '09.

But just didn't realize what he was saying about the helmet at first.
