What's up guys? I have a friend who has an 07 Gixxer 1k and he need some advice. When the bike is placed in gear the sound that it makes is louder than normal. I keep telling him that it's all in his mind but he doesn't think so. We sent to the stealership and they told him not to worry about it but they also scared him by telling him about how the shift forks can get bent if he doesn't shift correctly. Has anyone else had any problems with shifting the 07 gixxer 1k? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, tell him to use the clutch. Problem solved.

being bad at working the clutch could be the problem. but shifting without the clutch if done properly won't bend the forks either.

have him roll the bike a little before putting it in gear. sometimes that helps line things up better so you don't get so much of a clunk shifting into first.
