gs 750 engine swap

I was wondering if a 1977 gs 750 kickstart motor will fit in my gs 1980 frame with minimal hacking...I am a hacker by nature"If it don't fit cut it,chop it,modify it..The problem i am having is it seems the mounts might not line up correctly, and the rear of the motor seems to be hitting right behind the kickstarter..before i hack on this frame I would like some insight...all answers are greatly appreciated...The right one would "ROCK"
