| Pit-Bull front stand ??? What is the best method? The one that picks the bike up at the stearing stem or the one at the front forks? I need to get one to change my tire. I do not know which is better. The price difference is about $12. |

| Re: Pit-Bull front stand ??? What Conq said. You'll only need to pick it up by the forks most of the time, but the steering stem lift is good for when you need to remove the forks, etc.

| Re: Pit-Bull front stand ??? No, it converts between the Fork Lift, and the Stem stand. You still need your rear stand. |

You have a rear stand. Done. Fuggeddaboutit.
Now, you can get the Pit-Bull FRONT stand that can be used to lift from under the forks, and it ALSO converts to lift from the steering stem. |

Also, if you are lifting the front by the forks (and not the steering stem), be careful when loosening/tightening the axle pinch bolts as the load can cause the threads to get stripped.

So I guess the plan would be to semi tighten everything, then take the bike off the stand, then final tighten everything.
Also, it seems to me that the only bolts that need loc-tite are the pinch bolts. It looks like red was used. Is this correct? |

| Re: Pit-Bull front stand ??? I started off with just the fork-lift front, but after the bike fell off twice I ordered the converter for the triple and haven't had any problems since, plus it actually is better when working on them.
I love my stands, and just had the Pit Bull adapters welded on to my 96 CBR 900RR swingarm to use the spool stand.
(*****VERY IMPORTANT******IF YOU HAVE A 96-97 CBR 900RR YOU MUST GET THE RIGHT ADPTER PIN OR YOU WILL FIND OUT THE HARD WAY WHY WHEN YOU GOT TO LIFT THE BIKE AND THE FRONT FAIRING CRACKS UNDER THE HEADLIGHT DEAD CENTER. TRUST ME I KNOW) |

I've only heard of problems of stripping pinch bolt threads when using the fork-lift stand. I have the New Front Stand by Pit-Bull that lifts by the stem. I would think you'd be fine if you finish tightening after taking it off the stand.

My bad. You are correct. It was the caliper bolts that had the loc-tite. |
