That shoots a hole in my theory that jaws of the chock don't hold the tire firmly enough. Good to know since I have three Baxley chocks.

If you drop a can and it doesn't roll to the other end it is not a grade.

My curiosity finally got the best of me, and I e-mailed Baxley last night to ask them what this loop for. It seems their Japanese customers asked for a method by wihich the chock could be cable- or chain-locked so no one could walk away with it. I guess the Japanese couldn't figure out that you can just run a chain or cable through the middle of the chock and accomplish the same thing.

Having worked with plenty of Japanese customers, I understand very well why he didn't even try to convince them, easier just to weld the useless fugger on every chock!

Well, this review almost scared me away from the Baxley, since there were too many tales of tipping over. After my usual EXTENDED on-line shopping, I went with this one anyway. I am suprised more re-sellers don't carry it, or other "fancy" chocks for that matter.

I would just recommend you do use the lock when on a real smooth surface (painted garage etc.) Other than that Baxley ROCKS I have even considered redoing the sheephauler to use etrack mounted Baxleys

I think I picked that up from your adventures. I would have flipped-out to find my bike dropped for no apparent reason. Although, in your case, I guess you could have sleep-walking sheep to blame.

The could have been but i am pretty sure I had it cocked in the stand and it spun. Very easy to avoid. When you get the bike parked check that the tire is on both sides (if not rock the bike a bit to get it to settle) and enter the chaulk squarely.

Finally got a chance to cobble together a decent hand grip to fit the Sport Chock. It does make it much easier to move the chock around in the garage, and especially to and from the trailer....

An update on slippery surfaces: A few of us had them in the garage at Miller and if you rolled in and did not set them they wanted to slide a bit on the very smoothly finished and clean cement. The easy fix was to put a piece of duct tape on the floor under the foot. This gave the foot a bit of drag and the tape adhered nicely to the floor. Worked great.
