Generator question

My buddy has a generator (dont know what kind, size etc) and he said it is shutting off after a short period of use. Doesnt matter how much load its carrying although its usually just a set of tire warmers. Anyone have an idea of what might be causing this? I know its pretty vague but any help will be appreciated.

Re: Generator question

This may be stating the obvious, but has he checked the oil level? Some generators have a low oil shutoff feature.

Re: Generator question

When it runs, does it run rough? Maybe it's an air filter/clogged jet in the carb type issue

Re: Generator question

Ok more details from him.....it seems that the breaker is tripping. Plenty of oil in it and the motor seems to run fine. The good news is that he found a fellow that works for a generator repair place. Seems that my buddy's son routinely spanks this fellow in the mini-motard races.
