Receiver Rattle Cures

Quiet Mount

Anti-Rattle

I'm moving over to towing (yes, with the mighty Civic ) mostly for dirtriding and that damned receiver rattle is pretty annoying over 300 mile day. Just wondering if anyone has used either of the above, can recommend any other tips or tricks or products that may serve the same purpose.

Re: Receiver Rattle Cures

Havent seen those, but I have used a "J" pin in a standard 2" class 3 hitch. Does the same thing, puts tention on the hitch so it doesnt rattle around. Of those two, the first one looks better.

Thanks GFJ, I hadn't heard of the Jpin idea, I will dig into that more also. Thanks for the input, I'll likely be ordering one of those later this week.

Isn't that straight out of the Louisiana 'safe sex' manual?

Re: Receiver Rattle Cures

Is it rattling when you are towing, or just have the hitch in the receiver? When I'm not towing anything I remove the ball/hitch to keep some azzhole from stealing it.

Pete, you misspelled bitch again and I thought I said REPLY IN PM on my last message? come on man...

To answer other stuph:
- it happens when I tow from the trailer being herky jerky out back. When not in tow I typically take the the whole affair out in consideration of my sanity and fellow mankind*.

- there is actually very minimal clearance between the opening of the receiver and the ball mount, tried the tape trick and it either shreds off or gets caught near the slat for the pin and blocks entry (twist away preverts)

- Cong. , I would but it would detract from my 14" exhaust, allegedly good for .006 hp @ 13,625 rpm...

OTOH I did realize pretty much any enclosed trailer weighs more then my car to start with. I was sort of amused at the thought of that...
