I use a piece of it for the kickstand so it won't dig into the ply-wood if I stand the bike in the trailer.
If I was building a trailer from scratch, I would definitely consider a floor other than plywood however...
I really like edging the trailer where the tires scuff the plywood. Also see about a secondary ramp that folds off the rear ramp if you dont alread have one. Do you have rear jacks yet? |
I just bought a 2' x 8' piece 1/8" thick and it was less than $80 Anyways, on the topic of diamond plate, they make a version called Tread Plate, sometime called Fire Truck diamond plate, each diamond top is embossed with a checkered knurled patern designed for traction. Excelent choice if its going to be walked on. More expensive than regular diamond plate though. My trailer door is finished with an epoxy/sand mixture and i love its traction.

Mike | you got a good deal. 250 (1/4) thick 3003 Aluminum Diamond Tread Plate, Bright Polished 2 X 4 Ft. 1 $155.04 $155.04
I like that pattern of diamond plate. Ive seen it before. Looks like scaloped patterns on the raised edges...
I was looking at 4x8 sheets and the lowest quote I got was ~$250 for quantity if I remember correctly... |

| Re: 6X12 and 7X14 pics please. I got some prices.
24"X24" squares are $26.00
the two sheet sizes I need quotes:
(2) 32.25" X 62.5" are $256.00 also the guy that quoted me was an absolute jerk. That alone will make be walk out on a good price. That was Osgood's Welding in Claremont NH, just to spread the word.
anyone ever saved soda cans, and made there own?

| Re: 6X12 and 7X14 pics please. SMTB,
yeah, alu diamond plate is expensive. The steel versions are much cheaper but MUCH heavier as well... Not sure how competitive of a price that is, but even regular diamond plate, when wet, is slippery... Maybe seek out the kind G force was speaking of. |

| Re: 6X12 and 7X14 pics please. Another good option for your flooring and ramp is to get spray on bedliner applied. It cleans up well, is durable, and not as slippery as tiles or diamond plate. |

| Re: 6X12 and 7X14 pics please. True...and you are probably right. I just found a guy that can get me Fire Dept style diamond tred in 6' sheets 1/8 thick. Not a bad price either! So I might still go that way for the door, and tile the inside. |

I am getting a 64.5" X 60" sheet for $170, cut and delivered. He is billing me too...not even a prepay! Ballsy...but really cool! He is a great one to deal with!

I looked at the link to the retailer that sells adapters so you can mount chocks in E-Track but it requires that you mount the track perpendicular to the centerline of the trailer which is absolutely useless for 99% of the trailer install base.

He should still be able to make them. |
