| Baxley Chocks - mounting question BDA, or anyone else with Baxleys mounted in a trailer/vehicle, how did you go about mounting the chock to the floor? Did you use their own mounting kit?
I just ordered two "trailer" chocks and a Sport Chock (for the garage), and wondering if I should have gotten their kit, or can it be done securely via a trip to the local hardware store. |

| Re: Baxley Chocks - mounting question I haven't done anything yet, but the guys at TakeIt2TheTrack who I bought mine from do it themselves.
They take a small strip of steel, and weld on nuts for eye bolts. This bracket is then bolted to the trailer floor.
The eye bolts are then used to secure the Baxley in the trailer.
I think I'm just going to hard mount mine though. I have no need for it in the garage or pits. |

I may try something like that, as I need to be able to remove (and hopefully, easily) the chocks to use the trailer for hauling stuff other than motorcycles. |

| Re: Baxley Chocks - mounting question If you can put the Baxley up against the front wall of the trailer, just to that and you won't have to acutally mount it.
I'm pretty sure that's how Bwhip runs his, maybe ping him and ask. |

I could draw one up for you if you decide to do it yourself. |

I'm pretty sure that's how Bwhip runs his, maybe ping him and ask. | It's an open utility trailer, without substantial "wall" space at the front. I've done that previously, though, with my old BikeLift chock in an enclosed trailer (all the way to Barber and back) and it worked just fine. |

| Re: Baxley Chocks - mounting question To answer your question as to how I have mine mounted, I have two bolts sticking up from the wood subfloor I put in the Stabbin' Cabin. It is held in place by two finger tight nuts and is easily removed for pit duty.
I don't think that's what you're looking for, though.
Something like what LTL mentioned would work well for you.
If you can't visualize it without superior Paint skillz, you should thank your Louisiana public school officials. |

| Re: Baxley Chocks - mounting question OK Petey. Bracket under the chock.
You could also make the steel strip wider than the chock and bolt it outside if you wanted.

| Re: Baxley Chocks - mounting question Can the Sport Chock be used in a trailer without mounting it to the floor if tiedowns are used both front and rear (front pulling forward and rear pulling back)? I'm debating getting one of these and wondered if I could use it as a back up to the Strapless Transport Stands I currently use.

| Re: Baxley Chocks - mounting question There's two holes in the Baxley, I just drilled the floor of my trailer (5x8 open, wood deck) and used long bolts with big fender washers underneath to spread the load out a bit. All the bolts are doing is keeping the chock from sliding around anyway, they have plenty of support. I use one tiedown around the front wheel, and one on each side of the bike. Once you get to the track, or wherever you're going, remove the two bolts and it's off the trailer. I just bought a second one, and need to drill the trailer for it, leaving for the gap on Friday |

I'd like to avoid having to do either, which is why I like the bracket idea presented by LTL. |

| Re: Baxley Chocks - mounting question You could just use long bolts, or threaded rod, and leave them permanently on the trailer. Just use a lockwasher and fender washer on both sides of the stud. Then you could just slide the chock over the studs that you have bolted into the trailer floor, and put locking (nylock, or lock washer) nuts over the chock. The only reason I didn't go that route was I like to be able to switch from two bike mode to single (centered). |

| Re: Baxley Chocks - mounting question Just roll the ends of about 12" of duct tape together forming a double sided sticky surface. Put it on the bottom of the Baxley and press it down to the floor really hard. |
