| Trailer pricing Went trailer shopping, and I'd like to do some comparisons, if you guys don't mind.
The place I went to had the following to offer, lemme know what you think.
7x12 tandem 3500lb axle's with electric brakes, ramp door, man door, roof vent, stone guard, roof light ~$3500
Is this a good price? |

| Re: Trailer pricing Good Timing. I've been looking the past week also. I was looking at H&H Trailers as they're built nearby. They're asking $4495 for a 7X12 tandem axle. A bit pricey. |

Is this a good price? | I got my Pace American 7x14 with everything you listed for around $4k.
Having had a Haulmark before, I'd choose the Pace over it for quality. |

| Re: Trailer pricing There is a place that sells trailers right by C/A Honda. I forget the name. It is on the side street that runs parallel to 271 that is basically an off ramp to Alexander/Pettibone Rd. the place is on the right. I want to say it is JFI, or JFE or something like that.

I plan on doing some intake/exhaust tweaks to it, maybe a chip, and definitely a shift kit to give it a bit more beef.
HD, that place is JTI. I've talked to him in the past, he seemed kinda expensive. I'd prefer to deal with somebody out of the county to save that little bit on the taxes if I can. I won't be ready to buy for at LEAST 2-3 more months, so I'm just doing homework right now.... |

I know that's a push, but 2 of them are 600rr's, and one's a Buell XB9. The 4th one's a Shadow, but that'll change to a rocket soon enough |

| Re: Trailer pricing Don't know if you remember the pics of my new rig that I posted a few months back. The Trailer is a KZ Kargo by TN Trailers in Indiana. The price was excellent considering the level of finish and features. I paid 4200.00 OTD for my 8.5' by 16' and the interior walls are finished and painted, as well as the side door is big enough to ride your bike through. There is a local dealer that has an extensive inventory and the prices are very good.
You can check out the features at TN Trailers |

| Re: Trailer pricing ND, I picked up a used 6x12 last summer for $1200. If you're not going to use it all the time and don't care too much about cosmetics, used would be just as good. I've got it set up to haul 3 bikes and thats pretty tight. If you're planning on 4 bikes, definately get a 14 footer. The third bike in my trailer has to go in the middle behind the other 2 and it's front wheel is between the front 2 bikes rear wheels. As for your ranger pulling it w/4 bikes, I wouldn't bet on it. I've got a sonoma w/4.3 liter 6 and I've just pulled my bike so far on a few short trips and it did fine as long as you're on level ground, but if you have a fairly steep incline and a slow strart speed (hocking hills) it'll struggle. Not to mention your mpg will drastically fall. If your ranger is like my sonoma, you'll have to keep it in 3 instead of OD and at 65-70 mph, I'm taching about 3200. I'd like to take it to Florida in the next month or so, but I'm a little leary about the hills in Kentucky and how much gas it's going to suck along the way. I've been thinking of trading up to a bigger truck. BTW, can you still get discount tics to the bike show this weekend? |

My trailer is made by Cargo Craft. Cost me $2300 new. It will carry two sport bikes and lots of tools. It got envious parked next to Conqs though... Cargo Craft Inc.
I "hear" you can go to Elkhart and get really good deals there...

You've seen our trailer...it's a 7x14 and the Tundra w/ the V8 has to work pretty hard when going up hills. I'd hate to see you burn up your tranny. |

I wouldn't mind used at all, the thing is I don't have the cash on hand for it. I was gonna finance it. I've seen used trailers go for plenty cheap. I dunno, we'll see how it goes. I don't really have a need for it for a quite a few months so things will change by then |

My 5.4L V8 moaned a little going through the mountains with my 7x14 with 2 bikes, tools, etc in it, but it did fine. The 4.6L V8 truck I had before didn't like it at all. |
