| Pahrump - Advice, Things To Watch Out For? Hey all...
I will be riding on May 1 at Pahrump in a Trackday sponsored by another site. Just wanted to get your opinions on this track. I have only ridden Buttonwillow and Streets of Willow.
Anything I need to be careful of?
Specific turn to look out for?
Just looking for any advice or tips or anything about this track an insider can share!
TIA! |

| Re: Pahrump - Advice, Things To Watch Out For? The double apex curve, kink and turn just before the back straight can catch some off guard the first few laps.
Overall, the track has a good flow to it, allowing you to concentrate more on your riding and setup than worrying about the corners. |

| Re: Pahrump - Advice, Things To Watch Out For? AI - You are going to absolutely LOVE that track. It is smooth, forgiving, technical and fun. I can't wait to go back there (June 19 & 20). At STAR school, the turns that gave people the most trouble were 3, 5A/5B, and 7. But once you figure them out, they'll become favorites.
I found a pretty cool video of motorcycles doing some (fast) laps around that track. Find it HERE
P.S. You gonna have a leather suit by then?

| Re: Pahrump - Advice, Things To Watch Out For? Had to pull up the map to see the official numbering system.
The 5a/5b turn is the double apex, turn 7 is the one before the back straight and the 'kink' is the section between 3 and 4.
So, I guess we've found it to be the same.
Track numbering is so odd. They never really include all the corners. Then at some tracks different clubs will number them differently.
Anyway, you'll find that the turn at the end of the striaght (8) will allow you to carry way more speed than you think, as will the turns 1 and 2 sweepers.
Yeah, it's a fun track.

| Re: Pahrump - Advice, Things To Watch Out For? Spring Mountain is one of the best tracks I've ridden IMHO. The asphalt is smooth with only one exception and that is the exit of turn 2 due to a seam, but it's no big deal. Turn 3 is the turn that always hung me up because I felt like I couldn't see the exit and tended to botch it with regularity. Turn 4 is a hoot because you're on your knee through the majority of it, but be careful and don't roll off the throttle cause it will bottom you out with a quickness. Turn 5A/B can be taken as one turn if you're carrying the right speed. Turn 7 I found you just have to have a set turn in point and throw it into the turn. There's lots more room to the outside than it would first appear. Turn 8 is misleading as all hell and you can enter it a ton faster than it first appears, but 9 comes up quick so you're on the brakes as soon as the bike is strait.
With all seriousness, the only thing I've missed since moving away from Vegas is the track in Pahrump.
You'll have a blast....
