| Track Day Newbie Hey all. I have been riding street for about 5 years. I want to try a track day at Little Talladega or Barbers. However, I'm a little apprehensive about it. I'm a decent street rider but obviously no expert. I am a newbie to the track so that's the class that I'd join. What can I expect? A little nervous about it but wanting to do it.........Thanks. |

| Re: Track Day Newbie Check out Sportbike Track Time
They are one of several organizations that run trackdays. In order to ride at a track, you need to join one of the clubs. Some tracks or private groups may run trackdays, but that's not generally the case, the clubs rent the track and you have to be a member to ride. Sportbike Track Time runs trackdays at the two tracks you mentioned. They run three classes (as do most clubs); Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. In their Novice (beginner) class, they assign you with an instructor and they have lecture as well as track time. They often will have people there that, like yourself, have never been on a track. They'll show you the proper lines and discuss body postioning and other track-related skills. You pay the same price as you would for a regular track day. Good deal! |

| Re: Track Day Newbie I did my first (and so far only) track day at Talledega GP with STT and learned loads. I found the price to be more than fair for the amount of fun I had. |

| Re: Track Day Newbie Anthony, I cannot stress enough how much fun you'll have and how much you'll learn. You owe it to yourself to do it. I've done only one myself, a track school (as opposed to a track day - perhaps this is a distinction worth mentioning?) and I'd not trade the experience for anything. Probably bettered my riding by 50%. LINK |

| Re: Track Day Newbie Yes, DO the school! Even if you had track experience the school will school you! It will be your biggest investment you will make other than your bike for becoming a better rider.
Before you know it you'll be doing more trackdays...then want to start racing! Track riding is like crack, you'll be hooked after one hot lap! |
