Cold temps (low 50's) and water don't make for ideal track conditions! The rider broke his collarbone, but the bike came through relatively unscathed other than the rearstand spool punched in the swingarm. Hopefully rider and bike will be healed in time for the Fireblades days...

I understand Red Rider came back and helped the Ambulance guys get me out of the puddle and onto the stretcher - Thanks buddy.

| Re: Cold track + water + cold tires = ? Red,
I think you are bad luck.... There are at least a couple of us on here that have fallen down and gone boom while riding on the track with you... I did a day last year at Barber without you and did fine..... You're hexxed!!
For any of you that dont know, Im being sarcastic. Red is a great rider and in no way affects my riding....

Steve | Steve: Bummer maximus! Everyone said you were holding your arm, so I didn't suspect the collarbone (until I saw the video that is). Depending on the location of the break, it can be either excrucuating and take forever to heal or you could be mixing it up in a couple of weeks. I hope yours is the latter . . .
BTW, I somehow got rolling pretty good in one of the earlier sessions (later found I did a pair of 32s and then a 29 on a semi wet track, gotta love the RC), but around the fifth lap of the session I had a "shenders" moment between 6 and 7 (or 6a and 6b for the Trackoholics people) which had an even bigger river going through it than turn 1. I got complete sideways right before the little uphill and looked like I was headed for the grass on the inside of 7, but I stayed in it and other than blowing 7, came out pretty well. That was my final lap for the session needless to say.

| Re: Cold track + water + cold tires = ? Steve,
I just emailed Peter to see how you were doing. I'm glad to hear that it wasn't as bad as it looked when we all came up the hill after your crash.
I've seen the video and it is amazing how fast it happens.
I'm hopeful like Frank that the break is a fast healer and both my wife and I hope you get well soon.
Jim

| Re: Cold track + water + cold tires = ? uhmm...Niner, I think you are your own worst enemy when it comes to crash and burning! I seem to recall you were all alone at Fireblades.org I when you decided to test your track surfing skills!

| Re: Cold track + water + cold tires = ? Shenders1-
It was nice meeting you and I hope you're back in the saddle soon. I had just convinced myself to take the 954 out that session since you guys seemed to be having so much fun. After I passed you lying there in a puddle, I put it back in the van.. It was an SV kind of day for me.
Get better !
