| Re: Tales form the Track: Beaverrun 06/27 I was at Beaver run, PA for a 2 day Track event organised by REDUC. The bad news is that I crashed and good news is that I had tons of fun inspite of that. I low-sided at a double appex turn with a elevation. I came in too fast and instead of coming wide out of the turn to head for the next apex, I kept coming in and lost traction. The top fairing is damaged, the right side fairing has a big gash and a small whole and the exhaust canister too some beating. I came out fine with just a minor sprain in upper thigh. The bike was working fine. Tech check guy asked me to sawed off the top red part of the fairing where the Screen goes cause it was jutting out like a dagger. I did that, cleaned the bike and it was all good to go. It was a bit 'windy' without the fairing but over all not so bad. I guess my experince at Jennings made too over confident and instead of following some experienced riders line, I was trying to do my own thing and paid for it. Anyway, I followed Hondalgaltoo for the rest of they and I learned a lot and had a lot of fun. I concentrated on being slow and smooth rather than fast and shall I say furious. I haven't yet developed the pics of the damaged bike. I think Hondagal has some.
Lesson learned - ride at 80% capacity. Too bad I learned this after being 110%. |

| well, my 954 is track-only now ...I don't ride much on the streets anyway. I really didn't feel too bad about the bike cause I was prepared to take that chance. My only regret is that the crash was totally avoidable if I didn't get so over my head in the first session. |

| Re: Tales form the Track: Beaverrun 06/27 That'll learn ya! All kidding aside, any crash you can drive yourself home from is a 'good' crash. |

| Re: Tales form the Track: Beaverrun 06/27 Hey gautamde! (I'm the guy who took the pics of your unfortunate moment.) Glad you're okay, and it was real good to see you get back on the horse! Sorry I didn't get better shots of the get-off; I was tracking another rider at the time, and didn't see the first part of the fall (but I heard it) - I was just a little late to the party.
Maybe I'll see you at another event. Keep working on it!
P.S. I was able to use an '00 R1 for a session at BeaveRun (the same weekend). I'd been there once before, and from taking (literally) thousands of pics all around the track for a few days, felt pretty comfortable about getting out for a session. It's a cool track - smooth, fast, and fun. If you have the opportunity, check it out! |

| Re: Tales form the Track: Beaverrun 06/27 Thats the carousel turn where I crashed...I followed , rather stocked, Hondagaltoo like a shadow from that point on ....its funny how a turn can give jitters after a crash. |
