| Re: Nelson Ledges Advanced Street Course Thanks Baketech, had a great time. Sorry about not meeting lfg, FBT, and Slowpoke, (didn't read your thread until this morning). I didn't know (then) how to pick out you guys. Plus I was about exhausted from the heat by 4:00pm, it was about all I could do to load the bike up and head home. Whew, I'm still walking gingerly (I must be out of shape). |

| Re: Nelson Ledges Advanced Street Course Thanks All! *FireBladeT, yea that photographer is also a racer (probably 50 years old), his name is Peter and his company name is MotorSports Photo. *He takes photos of just about everyone and sells them in the tech inspection area.
Thanks for the compliment, I felt really good out there, not up to lfg's and other's pace, but good for me. *I got quite a few thumbs up from the instructors and report card of 'smooth'. *I had a great time.
There was this younger guy in my group (supposedly first timer) on a R6 that was smokin fast. *Ends up he lives right down the street from me. *When it was time for each rider to lead their group (with instructor following) he set a wicked pace, which I had to try and match of course (without going over my abilities). *He was smooth and that R6 was awesome, along with this other Kaw 636. *The 600 class seems like the perfect bike for that track, not long enough straights for Liter bikes to really have an advantage (just a rookie's perspective anyways).
Mid Ohio huh? *Hmmmmmm * * |

| Re: Nelson Ledges Advanced Street Course I was there too and watched your class quite a bit. There was this guy on a GSXR that was very impressive. We walked out so where could see everyone coming down the back straight and he was wicked fast into (I think) 11, 12, and 13. |

| Re: Nelson Ledges Advanced Street Course Oh, OK, I think I know who you're talking about. Was it a Yellow/Black GSXR 750? He had brand new Dunlop 208's mounted for class and apparently he's buddies with the owner Bob Stanley. Instructors were saying he was scraping body work?!?! |

| Actually, Nelson Ledges caters to the bigger bikes more I think. I was commenting to FBT and my wife that the last time I was there I thought I was running 3rd gear through most of the track and topping out 5th on the back straight. I was either mistaken or really bumped up my speeds because during the race I was running the entire track in 4th and topping out 6th on the back straight. I would drop to 3rd gear for turn 12, and slip into 2nd for the drive out of 13, but everywhere else I was running hard in 4th gear. Granted I am running 15/44 gearing on the bike so I am considerably lower than stock, but it is still a pretty fast track.
Come on out to Mid-Ohio with us. A friend just signed up and said Monday is all full but they still had some openings for Tuesday. |
