Well, I participated my first instructional track day yesterday completing phase 1 of 3 offered by
FAST Overall I had a fun filled day and learned a few things to boot!!
First thing I learned is that I'm no Valentino Rossi

Although I improved my lap times by over a minute from my first lap of the day to the last (on my first lap I did a 2.28 and my quickest lap of the day was a 1:20) I rode pretty conservitally not wanting to crash!! I did not have any motocross experiences that day, as the instructors would say. Our group was being coached by Kevin LaCombe who is one of the riders participating in the CDN super bike series, he’s a very fast young rider. Things I need to improve are my body position (I ride very upright and look very stiff, had a very hard time correcting this as I have ridden on the street in this fashion for the last four years) and on/off throttle mid corner. Didn’t have too many problems with lines as they had cones for braking zones, turn in point, apex and exit.
Well here are a few pics from the day,
