| Re: Grattan July 11,12,13 Anyone from .org going this weekend? I was trying to make it last weekend, but our power went out (Thanks for the 1932 infrastructure DTE! and I couldn't leave until I got all the servers back online.
I plan to be there on Saturday for the 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM practice. Hope to see someone there! |

| Re: Grattan July 11,12,13 I would love to but can't this weekend. I am getting the bike back together after the last race and am going to be at the STT track days Monday and Tuesday. Gotta get some good track time in preparation for the AMA National there the following week.
I am going to make the next Fastrax Grattan event. If firebladetoronto can't make that one and my other friend isn't up to the task then I might be looking for a partner. I have a couple other friends here to ask first, but if they all back out then I might have to grab a Grattan local that I trust to help me go kick some butt (abtech, DCE?). |

| Re: Grattan July 11,12,13 I won't be riding this weekend but there is a small chance I might help VTR996's brother out in the pits, he's doing the endurance in the afternoon on saturday. If I do make it I'll look for the guy w/the two-stroke RC51 |

| Re: Grattan July 11,12,13 I hope you can make it Phozed. This 2 cylinder thing is going to take some getting used to (again???).
DCE might be the better choice if he can make it, but I would also ask Phozed, VTR996 or Rydman, as my endurance days are behind me at this point. |

| VTR996 is currently on the injured reserve after a spill in T7 at BHF a few weeks ago.... I hope to be back in action in a month or so.
Since I can't race myself, I'll be @ grattan on saturday to help pitcrew for my brother. He'll be running his Hawk in the 3hr endurance 'ironbutt' solo class. I'm planning on heading up around 5am our time so I figure to hit the grattan gates around 10am.
I'll keep an eye out for you Abtech |

eyauch : What the hell happened Mark??
| I pulled a dumb move.
I was 'control riding' at our local 'ChicagolandSportbikes' trackday at Blackhawk Farms a few weeks ago. In one of the afternoon sessions I came around turn7 following one of the other control riders. We weren't going fast but at a decent clip...on the corner exit I noticed I was closing on my buddy on his R6. At first I thought 'no big deal' as usually the 600's walk by at warpspeed down the strait even if I fly through T7 and get a great drive. Well that wasn't the case, instead I found myself closing very fast on his rear wheel. When I was about a few feet off his tailsection (and closing fast) I tried to drag a bit of brake to scrub off some speed in a last ditch effort to avoid hitting him.
I don't quite fully remember what happened next, but basically I washed out the frontend...I smacked the ground pretty hard...then the bike fell on me...I then slide down the pavement, over the rumble strips and into the gravel. When all was said and done I had a 1'dia puncture in my kneecap down to the bone(my suit slide down on my leg leaving the expansion panel covering my knee) and a badly bruised shoulder. Phozed and some other buddys really helped out and got all my crap loaded and I went to the hospital to get my knee stitched up. Now 3wks later the stitches are pulled, I'm walking better and I have use of my right arm again but it still hurts and its gonna be a couple more weeks before I can ride my bikes again. |
