Just signed up for my first track school!

I'm going to be doing my first track school at MAM on August 12th . I'm really excited, and a little nervous.

www.mamriderschool.com

I was originally planning on doing a school at Brainerd, which is only 2.5 hours away from my house, but after reading Chain's review of the MAM school a few months ago, I started to seriously consider it. MAM is 420 miles from my house so it's fairly close as well. It's nice to have first person feedback about a school, which I didn't have for the one at Brainerd. Plus the Brainerd track layout seems more intimidating to me with that insane straight

I swear I live in the area with the straightest roads on the planet, so I am no where near a cornering expert. I'm hoping this school will really improve my riding.

I just ordered a set of diablo corsas, and went with a 180 rear after reading some old threads. Hopefully I'll be ok on those...

Feel free to offer any advice or comments

I like the way you're approaching this.. I agree with your assessment of Brainerd - looks to me as if one could pick a better track for a school - and you did that.

I rode with Diablo Corsas ( 180 rear) in the Kentucky twisties yesterday, and the bike worked just fine. I'm going to run them at Grattan on the 23rd. They were even pretty grippy on wet pavement.

Good for you Rios. You'll have a blast. Just keep listening/following the instructors and trust them, you'll be having a 3 day grin afterwards. Always keep in mind that you're out there to learn something and most importantly TO HAVE FUN! Lose any ego, concentrate on learnin and leanin! Have fun.

Be forewarned...you WILL become addicted to track riding! Have fun, try to relax, and don't worry about the other riders...

Re: Just signed up for my first track school!

Well, tomorrow's the big day. I hope the weather holds up for me. I'm very excited. I got my bike all ready to go; got it on a dirt bike trailer with some modifications to the trailer and will be making the 6 hour trip in the morning.

Have fun dude! Remember a cooler full of water, sports drinks like Gator or Power stuff and some sandwiches and snacks like apples.

The weather should be good for you. We are all looking forward to a post track report!

Damn, wish I could go too
