Sorry...I didn't explain. That wasn't the point of the comparo. It was a 6 way shootout of current supersport 600's...

I understood...just don't think I'd include touring as one of the categories when rating a 600 SS.

Re: Backwardholics at Grattan Friday the 13th..

Who the heck is this speed character, and how did this turn into another 600RR Vs. everything else thread?

I wish I could ride that track every weekend...it's just that much of a rush!!!
Backwards with the "Hump" turning into a "Jump" sounds like a whole lot of fun to me . Wish Sliderphoto would have caught me over the hump when my rear end was over a foot off the ground...whooo hooo..motard baby!!!

Gotta stop looking at all these Grattan threads.........

Guess I don't ride my bikes. Just think that's the last thing that one would be interested in when looking at a SS comparo. As far as long rides it all depends on the rider. I've did 500 mile days on the 954 with no problems. Heck i have a friend that does iron butt rides on a RC51.

By the way who won the touring category? Sure wouldn't be the 600rr with it's hard seat.

Some jerkoff that we know. Get the bike painted yet mang? Not a 600rr vs everything else. I'm just in a "mood" today. Our fridge is acting up and I don't want to spend a $%$^ grand on a fridge.

Haha, you said you have a friend that does iron butt rides on an RC-51 ..does it start with an "S" and end with an "S" ...

If you weren't in the flaming desert, your fridge would be fine

Back to the title here.....

Oldgoat is gonna be spanking all the young punks at grattan backwards or forwards .

I think it's a valid category for the premise of the article. There are lots of folks looking for a 600 that would like to do a combo of track days and weekend trips. This was not intended to be a just a track test, but rather a real world comparison for people interested in buying a road going SS 600....

I agree with you. Not everyone can have a track only bike, goldwing and a street bike so most would need a bike that can pull triple duty including longer rides

Re: Backwardholics at Grattan Friday the 13th..

Oh. My. God. That was so much fun. That track is an absolute blast in the counterclockwise direction.

We should plan on doing that the third day of the next fireblades day. It only takes a few laps to get used to. And the warnings about the hump-ramp were really well founded. Turns out landing the wheelie is the hard part.. Steering dampers - don't leave home without them.

Thanks to trackoholics Jim for towing me around for a couple of sessions to improve my lines / confidence / and, uh... applied testosterone-to-throttle ratio..

Depo, I've got PETA on the other line.. but I'll never tell.
