 | Track Days in/near WI Ive been reading forums about track days and schools and I have to admit it sounds very fun. With my motocross racing coming to a close (3 broken legs in 3 years) I think I would like to race my '929. I know Road America is in elkart lake, but are there any others nearby/in wisconsin or semi close to wisconsin? How are the events held? Is there actual races or just cruise around the track type thing? Also, what do you guys/girls suggest I purchase or bring along for a good track day experience. What has to be done to the bike and all that good stuff. Any help would be great. Thanks a ton. -Mikey Mike | |

| Re: Track Days in/near WI edge racing These guys offer a school at Blackheart Farms near beloit, wisconsin. I haven't been there though. I went to this one and it was awsome. Might be a really long drive for you though. |

| Re: Track Days in/near WI If you want to race, Championship Cup Series (CCS) is the main organization in the area. They just had their last race at Gingerman this past weekend. There are different regions, but they race Road America, Blackhawk Farms, Gingerman, Mid America, Gateway Interational Raceway, and others. They have a race licensing class normally on the first day of the race weekend - Saturdays. Give you the basic rules, one or two sessions and a mock race. A lot of people do track days to get up to speed. Track days aren't races. They split usually into different groups based on ability and experience, ie. Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each organization has different rules on how you get to the different groups. Each organization has different rules on equipment, gear, and bike preparation. There is also some racing at Brainerd in Minnesota. CRA? Some local and not too distant tracks :
I'm sure if you search on track day organizations you'll find a bunch of groups, then check their schedules, requirements, etc. |
