| Re: Packing the trailer and heading off for Spring Mt. @ Pahrump You're going to have a blast! What a fun track. I'd definitely want to check out the Mille and Tuono, along with the 636 and ZX-10R!
If you haven't seen it already, here's a cool video of a couple of laps around that track.
Have fun!

| Re: Packing the trailer and heading off for Spring Mt. @ Pahrump Too much to say!
Saturday was bike demo/testing. Kawasaki, Truimph, and Aprilia brought their fleet.
I started with the Tuono which I thought was just ok. I had to keep correcting myself on the turns. I really didn't like this bike on the track and I couldn't wait to get off of it. I didn't appreciate the handling. Maybe on the street and touring, it would've felt nice!
The RSV Mille was a whole lot of fun. I love twins and though it felt a bit heavy, once you had in going, it was pretty nimble in the corners and picked up some pretty good speed on the straights. Brakes were very nice too.
My all time favorite was the Kawi ZX10R. I rode the 6R before that and I guess I wasn't used to the handling of a 600 (it's been a while as I'm partial to liter bikes).
I ended up riding the XZ10R, actually, several times over. The bike just felt like it was made for me. Ergo's were pretty comfy, no complaints there. In first gear, the thing just railed in the first corner. Handling was superb! THrough the corners, I could almost 'no-hand' it and it would still hold it's line. The front wheel would pop up a couple of times whether you'd like it or not.
THis bike was so easy to toss around and Spring Mountain is such a fun track - too bad it's so far.
A bit twitchy though (and it really needed a damper!). I flogged it for a bit and under some hard braking, the front end had a bit of chatter, but otherwise felt planted. 120+ mph in second gear was interesting. <-- so far, my favorite bike.
Sunday was the track day and I brought my 929. It sucked to ride it after being spoiled from the previous day. (I was frantically searching for a zx10R - where did it go?).
Still, my bike didn't dissappoint me as now I was familiar with the track.
Tons of new faces there and as always, I grabbed a couple of nice riders to show me some good lines (especially through turn 4).
My tires finally gave out on me at the end of the day and didn't stick anymore (they were pretty wasted and I didn't want to push it). Overall, I had a great time!
A motorcycle tester/journalist brought an NCR Millona to the track. At first, I couldn't figure out what bike this was. After realizing it was a one of a kind, custom 36k bike, I backed off on the track!
Finally, to top off the weekend, a huge margarita with my girlfriends polished off the Mexican food (I'll dig up the tired and drunken margarita picture).
Here's a couple of shots taken by killboy.com of me on the ZX10R: |

| Re: Packing the trailer and heading off for Spring Mt. @ Pahrump Very nice RC! Thanks for the report. I'd love to have the chance to fly a ZX-10R around that track. I'll bet you didn't need to get beyond 3rd gear though! Nice pics, too. You're bringing back good memories of my favorite track! |
