Re: Track day Prep for 954

Hi.

I'm prepping my 954 for a track day this Sat at Gingerman (South Haven, MI) w/ Learning Curves.

I've done one TD before with this bike, and no one with this model could figure out if the brake-tail LCD assembly unplugs right there at the light. It seemed to require fence-pulling force if it does.

So we all just taped and taped....

Anybody???

Thanks

Dave

Pull the fuse, so it won't melt the tape.

I was just thinking, LEDs don't get all that hot I guess. Still, just pull the fuse.

Thank you, guys. A brilliant solution.
This is like having an interactive manual.

Re: Track day Prep for 954

I seem to remember when I used my 954 for a couple trackdays that I could pull the fuse to stop the brake light from coming on, but the fuse that controlled the taillight also controlled the dash or something like that??? I ended up disconnecting it at the wire harness under the right side of the seat cowel.

The taillight is easy to unplug. Simply open your trunk, and when standing behind your bike reach into the space between the trunk liner and outer body panel on the right side and you will see the plugs. It takes all of a minute.

Re: Track day Prep for 954

Thanks some more

If the fuse thing has unforseen consequenses, I'll get the wires on the right side. Sure would have been convenient to have made it plug where you could get at it easily...

Took me a few minuted to find it as it is shoved in the side out of the way. It was easy once I found it...

Re: Track day Prep for 954

Go to home depot or lowes and get DRYWALL tape. It comes in colors and will NOT melt. I used it on my taillight and you couldn't see it when I braked. As for the headlights, tape it up and unplug the low beam. Tape up the connector so it doesn't rattle around. I would waste your time pulling fuses when this is quick and works.

Re: Track day Prep for 954

Thanks for all the tips. I finally found the connectors, though getting to them was tough for my fat little fingers.
Anybody have experience with Learning Curves school?
