| Track Addix @ MAM - May 30th (UPDATE) I've signed up for Track Addix on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30th at MAM. I paid only $160 for a whole day of no-session riding. I hope someone from the board can make the jaunt and ride with me. http://www.trackaddix.com/ http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/

| Re: Anyone want to go to Track Addix w/me? Good advice. I just figured since I've already completed the track school at MAM and am familiar with the course, I could justify $160 for a Track Addix no session day before Grattan. |

But remember you were on the Yomommaha last time and the BUSA has never seen track duty with you on board. Track time is the most valuable mod money can buy, so I certainly don't want to discourage you.
Just remember, the Grattan event is for experience and fun, so no one needs any bragging rights . . . |

How do I get in on that one? I've been looking for a reason to do a trackday and Summit Point isn't that far from NOVA. |

Given your location, I'd joint STT. Plus, their membership is $25 per year vs. Reduc's $100. Also, Summit is the furthest "south" that Reduc goes, and it's for that one day only. STT, as you probably know, runs events at a lot more southern venues.
Edit: I should also mention that Team Promotion runs at least a few events at Summit Main, if you wanted to join them.

I wish I was still in the area and good join you. The longer I'm gone, the more I realize how nice it was to have a track that close. Especially when you can go every Wed afternoon if you wish.
I've signed up for two track days at Motorsport Ranch. Just got new Pilot Powers put on and can't wait to get back out on the track.
Have fun at MAM. |

I'm getting very jonsey about this: http://www.millermotorsportspark.com/ A 4.5 mile track with a 3500 foot straight. Just about a half hour from my door, and should be opening end of the summer. Take a look at the 3D track renderings - particularly the main track drive.
West coast .org gathering '06 anyone?

I'm not sure of any major event that uses a 4.5 mile course. Definately not in MotoGP, F1, CART, IndyCar, NASCRAP, AMA, WSBK, etc.
They are building it to comply with the specs for all major sanctioning bodies. With the current plan it should be among the safest courses in the world. Certainly here in the U.S.
They have already been in talks with many U.S. groups, but have yet to get into actual talks regarding world level racing events here. However, the course will exceed all FIM and FIA specs.
The problem will be that of other support. There is a lack of lodging right nearby (although there is plenty of it within 30-45 minutes), and the town is very small. The closest major hospital is also a good 45 minute drive or 20 minute helo ride - although there is a small local one. That would really be the only thing holding back major events.
It is quite cool to see deep-pocketed racing enthusiasts get this into it.

| Re: Anyone want to go to Track Addix w/me? If there are events willing to come in, I'm sure it'll bring hotels/hospital closer. Only downside of a track that big is that it'll likely be very expensive to rent for track days. |

Have fun at MAM. | Damn, that would be a blast, North. Well, other than lacking a nice track in your backyard, how do you like living down there? Any chance of a transfer back? |
