Lap times @ Grattan ?

I did the STT track day at Grattan on my 6RR (all stock w/pilot powers) last Sunday and was curious what sort of lap times some of you have posted there. By early afternoon I had run several 1:32's with a best of 1:32.12. My friend that was with me on a TZ250 was in the 1:33-1:34 range.

That's about what I was doing in the 3 hour endurance race I did last july on an R6. I think Boo is closing in on the track record on a GSXR 600. Abtech? Trackoholic?

Re: Lap times @ Grattan ?

My best time to date was on my TZ and was ~ 1:25.1. On my 929 & RC my best times are in the mid 1:26s.

Re: Lap times @ Grattan ?

The record is 1:19 by Tray Batey (I think). Bojan Milijkovic ran a 1:21 last year. Your 1:32 is pretty damn fast considering. Anything under 1:30 is hauling right along. Check out Mylaps.com for some of the WERA times for reference.

Re: Lap times @ Grattan ?

My best is a 1:31 and change. I only get there when everything is going smoothly. I also try to go home in one piece which keeps me from getting too crazy.

I did a few track days at Barber Motorsports this past weekend. We were running 1:47's and possibly a 1:46 but I am not sure I believe my lap timer. What's funny is I felt like I was going pretty quickly but the ama guys do it in 1:25. Man, that is fast. That track is a blast. If you have the chance, you should try to ride it. 45' wide, smooth, technical, a lot like grattan ( the technical part that is LOL). It was an awesome experience. Barber is 2.3 miles around.

Re: Lap times @ Grattan ?

Thanks for the info. Putnam Park is my home course so I have a good feel for what the record/fast guys/track day times look like and can compare.

I try to look at lap times for me, like dyno numbers; the numbers themselves are meaningless except to compare the progress. Like if you dyno your bike at 120 hp and then change some things and it re-dyno's at 130. Well, that doesn't neccessarily mean your bike makes 130 hp. It does mean that you improved your power output by roughly 8% though.

Jedi,
For what it's worth, your lap times faster than mine by almost the same exact margin at both Putnam and Grattan...
