| Just did Road Atlanta That is one crazy track. It has blind turns, elevation changes, ripples, patches, 100+ MPH turns, concrete walls everywhere, and a back straight to test the top speed of almost any bike. My nerves were shot by the end of the day, but I still had fun.
Was anyone else there SAT 5-21? |

Back to your topic. I don't know about concrete walls, that just has a bad sound to it. |

This thread needs more Grackles
end jack
So what you are saying is that Road Atlanta is like most fun roads down here (with the exception of the 100+ comment)

that AMA runs there as well as several other motorcycle racing organizations. it is fine. there is hay, tires, air fences where needed.
do you really think miladin would run it if it weren't safe? he crys when he is cut off by a guy not tryong to be passed
the walls are there to stop the cars |

the walls are there to stop the cars | ahem . . . No chicken here, but RA has collected it's share of both bike and car racers. A miscalculation or bump coming over the hill/under the bridge can get you into the concrete pit wall very easily (and accounts for at least 7 deaths at RA). It's a great track, no doubt, and I have never run it with the AMA, but everytime I have been there someone gets into the concrete at least once. Also a brain fade on the back straight kink will cost you dearly . . . |

the walls are there to stop the cars | That's why NHIS is no longer on the schedule. Mladin, Duhamel, and some others won't ever run there again. |

The chopper that medivac'd the guy flew right over me house as it left. did you get to see it? | Yeah, I saw the chopper. It ended the day early, but thankfully that guy is OK. I think about half of the sessions were red flagged, and the ambulance went out for half of those. I would still like to go back now that I'm over the shock.
What was last year's fiasco? |

| Re: Just did Road Atlanta The guy who was airlifted posted on the NESBA board that he only had his bell rung. Other than the bill for the chopper ride he was all right!

nesba came with 2-3 controlriders. 1st lap of first session everybody was flying and passing. i dropped to the end to avoid the wrecks that were defintely going to happen and got lapped under the caution flag. the whole day was about idiots, i emailed nesba and never got a response.
they are a cluster**** at that track, i would hate to see them at other high speed tracks. some other members here had the same type of experience with them at this track. |

| Re: Just did Road Atlanta OK so I searched on Road Atlanta and found this thread.
2 questions:
How 'fast' is road atlanta? I assume lots faster than Baa-rber but how about vs Grattan?
Nesba is offering a late may date that would fit the SSS master plan (after Rogue but before Fireblades) But am a bit leary after reading Bubba's comments Pelt protection is #1. So any improvements since then?
