Cal-Sportbike Invites you to SMMR (Pahrump) 9/17-18

Cal-Sportbike Track Days is returning to Spring Mountain (Pahrump, NV) on September 17-18 (Sat-Sun) and we welcome you to join us for another great experience. Register here: http://www.calsportbike.com/trackdays with Visa/MC/Amex/Disc/PayPal or by calling our friendly staff at (800) 930-8520.

FORMAT INCLUDES NOVICE SCHOOL (FREE): This date will be a 3-group format, with an optional novice school for the C group riders (school is mandatory for first time track riders). We have a seasoned staff of instructors conducting workshops and doing personal coaching. We are also happy to work with intermediate and advanced riders too!

AMENITIES: We provide chilled bottled water and Gatorade delivered to each pit, breakfast munchies, and a catered buffet lunch. Optional services at this event include trackside tire service and chair massage therapy as well as photography by Mike La Putt of Trackday.net. We have standby EMS and of course a full corner staff for your safety.

RIDER PARTY: We like to enjoy the whole weekend with our riders. So we host a Friday night rider mixer (all you buy is your drinks) at a local eatery. We will have video and track maps for newbies, and it's a great time of camaraderie to get to know other riders!

We also provide a lunchtime track drive/talk around the course with our instructional staff.

The ticket price is $150pp and includes food and beverage service.

it's such a fun track!
The last time that trackday rider list was updated was almost 2 weeks ago, so I'm sure there are more riders registered than what the rider list is showing...

Would have loved to go out in Sept, but I already scheduled vacation for October to ride Pahrump. Maybe next time!

yes I've been there 6 times. if you have any questions let me know, have you gotten a room yet? that is, if your staying any nights there? the best place to stay is at the Best western, unless your into gambling, then stay at the nugget ...

Thanks for the info on the rooms but i live in Vegas, it will be my first time on any track so i will be looking for any help you can give on going around the track fast and safe.

First time on the track, I'm sure you'll be in the Novice group, Excellent in classroom instruction with on track drills!

take your time learning the track, can you drag knee? if not it's no biggie, learn to be consistant in your lines practice being smooth, being smooth will make you faster. drink lots of water/gatorade the night before and at the track so you don't get dehydrated, if you have an easy up bring it too, not too much shade there.

are you doing both days? you can learn a lot doing two days, 1 day in the novice group, if you feel your a better rider the a novice, say you are already dragging knee out on the mountains(or your comfortable at higher speeds) then sign up for the intermediate group for sunday.

I know when I do two days, I improve a whole bunch...

oh yeah, if someone is faster than you, and you try to keep up, thats fun, you can learn a lot from following them, but if you start felling uncomfortable going that fast then slow down to a pace your ok with, it's ok this is part of the learning process, as your skill level goes up so will your speed will too.

sometimes it's easy to go in over your head when your trying too hard to keep up...

I rode Pahrump's old configuration last year. I heard they added a few more turns plus some elevation changes??

That's what I heard, I was hoping we could have checked out the new track (west) I had asked, but no one really gave a an clear answer, I saw one of the instructors on the 1st day early morning go for a ride in a radical with the track owner, on the new track.

Hey jay, Its been a pleasure meeting you , Your really fast on that 919, I actually seen you pass a few bikes on that last turn before start and finish line. It took me all morning to learn that track and the class they gave the C group was top notch. I had one problem with foot placement in turns, i was scraping on the ground my boot more than my knee. Hope to see you there the next Track Day.
